Vidor, TX I am a college student working on a degree in History in Beaumont, TX. I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (also known as Stein-Levanthal Syndrome) and have tried many different things to lose weight. I have been working out slowly with "Project: YOU Type 2" and lost 20 pounds in 2 months! That is a miracle for me! I hit my highest weight of 210 pounds in January 2008. I looked in the mirror after I I am a college student working on a degree in History in Beaumont, TX. I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (also known as Stein-Levanthal Syndrome) and have tried many different things to lose weight. I have been working out slowly with "Project: YOU Type 2" and lost 20 pounds in 2 months! That is a miracle for me! I hit my highest weight of 210 pounds in January 2008. I looked in the mirror after I had been on the scale and didn't recognize myself. I was depressed and miserable. I also didn't feel well. My blood pressure had been higher than normal, I couldn't regulate my sleep schedule, and I was having trouble controlling my blood sugar. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a genetic endocrine disorder that leads to a condition called Hyperinsulinemia and causes heart disease, thyroid problems, diabetes, obesity, infertility and death. It is tricky to control and I hated that I felt I had no control over my own body. Until I was 24, when I broke a vertebra in my back due to calcium deficiency, I was very active. I loved to go hiking, dancing, camping and my weight fluctuated around 165. Before I was diagnosed with PCOS I was a fit, active teenager, never struggled with weight and played almost every sport. And I loved my life! I wanted to love my life again. The day I called my coach, who is a friend, and asked her to help me, was the day I took back control of my life. I have not regretted a minute of it. My progress is slow but my body is not rejecting my efforts, as it has in the past, and I am seeing daily progress in my fitness levels. Today, I am a size 14 and my old pants fall off me if I put them on. Come work out with me and we can shed our old self-image as we take off the pounds to reveal the beautiful person inside! I know you can do it! And I know that you and I are worth the effort it takes. No one else can do this for you and you have to want it. I want it for me! And I want it for you!
