My name is Heather. I'm 32 years old and I've been doing Beachbody programs for well over 6 years now. You'd think I'd be slammin' fit and all that stuff but I'm here to tell you that life truly does get in the way sometimes and we're not all perfect. There are no miracle pills or secrets that are going to make you look like Jessica Biel(ladies insert whatever actress, model, etc) or Ryan My name is Heather. There are no miracle pills or secrets that are going to make you look like Jessica Biel(ladies insert whatever actress, model, etc) or Ryan Reynolds(guys you too, he's just my personal preference) for the rest of your life. It takes effort and dedication. News Flash: You're going to have to workout and eat healthier. Shocker I know. I will say that when I orginally started with BB I was over 220 pounds and a size 16 and in 9 months I was a size 10 and weighed about 163. I've had my ups and down throughout the years and most recently hit a very all time high (actually low I guess you would say) where I was 237 pounds and a size 18. Again with BB videos, watching what I ate (notice I did NOT say diet y'all), and focusing on myself I'm now down to a size 10 and I weigh about 162. I love running, shopping (duh who doesn't?), and over all being a groovy person to others. I know what it's like, I've been there. I've had really bad suckey things happen. I've been knocked down. I know you have too. I also know that you can do this just like I did. And I'm going to help you.

I started with BB about 6 years ago, fat, drunk, on my couch at 2 am or whatever and caught the ever fateful infomercial. I was about 220 pounds at the time and in a size 16. At that point I was the heaviest I had ever been in my life. I was miserable and hated myself. I was the algae on the floor of the proverbial "rock bottom". I decided to change when I ordered Power 90. I did it faithfully and lost 37 pounds in the 90 days and went to a size 12. I proceeded on with Power Half Hour and Slim in six. I pretty much became a BB junkie. Only I took it to an obessive level. Instead of enjoying life and getting out there I became convinced that I could look better. Even getting to a size 9 (for me at 6 feet tall it looked weird) wasn't small enough. It became a bad case of body dysmorphia where I was seeing fat still. All of this eventually became too much for me to take and I snapped. I just quit. Everything. And the weight slowly piled back on. Off and on through the years I would start working out again but it was very half hearted and for all the wrong reasons. I would make excuses not to do it and figured, hey I'm married I have no one to impress. It's all fine to TELL yourself those things but when you look in the mirror, or you're lying there in bed at night, or going out with your friends....well you know the real you hates it, hates what you've done. I did. It basically took my life falling apart for me to wake up and realize that I needed to really focus on what I wanted. I didn't want to become this crazed psycho worker-outer but I didn't want to be fat and lazy, unhappy, etc. So I decided to start up with one of the workouts from Beachbody that truly made me happy and that's Turbo Jam. I love Turbo because you can just be you. It's not about being perfect it's about living it and having fun. I incorporated Turbo with some weight work at the gym and running. It wasn't all at once, I incorporated things slowly because I didn't want to fall back into obsessive routines. When I started back up I had truly discovered that I was the amoeba that fed on the algae on the floor of the proverbial "rock bottom". I hit my all time high of 239 pounds and I was in a size 18/20. It's taken over a year and a half but I'm now a size 10 and somewhere between 164 and 170. I stopped weighing honestly. My goal here is to maintain the happy that I've found. It's not about eating rabbit food and being unhappy with the way I'm doing it but it's not about eating WHATEVER I want either. I've found that moderation in the enjoyment of what I like along with working out had balanced out my life. Right now I'm going through a very trying time emotionally. Truthfully, I'm going through a divorce, I'm in debt (thanks divorce), I'm having to live with my parents, and I'm 31. Not 29, not 30 but 31. I've crossed the threshhold. Hello older, it's me, and I don't like it. My point is not for sympathy from anyone, it's more so to say I know what it's like to have "THE SUCK" go on in your life. I know what it's like to ask yourself "Can this get ANY worse?" and then have my truck tire pop. I also know that working out TRULY has been a one true saving grace for me. It's 30 minutes or more of escape from a sometimes not so cool reality. Overall it keeps your mind sharp too. And I'd like to say I'm pretty gosh darned witty.
