Transformation Story

Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom in order to find the determination and
commitment to climb out of the hole. In my case, my rock bottom came when
I could only fit into two pairs of pants. It sounds shallow, I know, but it's a
terrible feeling to not be comfortable in your own skin. I was beginning my
new life and I didn't want to be fat!


I started the Slim in 6 express diet/exercise program the day before I was
about to strike out on my own to a new city. I full-heartedly embraced the
idea that there is no time like the present to take control of your life, so, I did
it.


For the first week, I pressed play every morning and evening, took my multi-
vitamin, cooked my meals (which I had not done in a while!), and drank my
water. I was so surprised by how easy it was!


On the fifth day of Slim in 6, the unexpected happened: I partially tore a
tendon in my calf while exercising. When I went to the doctor he told me that
my injury would heal in about six weeks, but that I could "probably" do the
elliptical machine or any other exercise that didn't compromise my calf. I
took a cab that day, struggled to walk my dogs for a few days, and cried the
first
two/three days out of sheer frustration. I wasn't sure how long I wouldn't be
able to exercise, but I wasn't going to give up. It was time to stop feeling
sorry for myself: after a few tears, I decided that I would work out my upper
body and make sure that my diet was impeccable.


Within three days, I was doing a modified version of Slim in 6 "Start It Up." I
had to skip the lunges, the jumping jacks, and several other moves. I was
proud that I hadn't let my injury get in the way.


I placed the progress poster on my fridge, crossed out every day completed,
and renewed my commitment and inspiration by looking at the Photo Gallery
on the million dollar body club. I had made the commitment; there was no
more room for excuses. I had been there and done that. I was
unstoppable. I am unstoppable.


Finally, the person I am on the inside, a person I like, corresponds to the
person that people see on the outside.

Now I'm a coach! I can't tell you how AMAZING it feels to
help other men and women reach their fitness goals!
