I was an active wanna-be athlete, played softball and floor/in-line hockey. But then I went off and got married, got hurt (knee surgery), had a couple of kids and got fat. I walked around for a couple of years trying to lose some of the weight and had little success. I was starting to convince myself that this is just the size I am going to be, 220+ lbs and a size 40 waist.
Every year at Christmas my brother and I make a bet of who can lose the most weight and we never followed through. This time he was serious and so was I, so I thought. Ordered Power 90 and “I was going to do it!” Well most of January went by and I was still an overeating, overweight couch potato. BUT then it happened, the moment(s) that pushed/motivated me to start Pressing Play.
Over a 48 hour time frame I had 3 defining moments. The first moment came when I discovered that it was time to start buying pants with a 42 inch waist. Later that night I was looking through old pictures and I found a picture of me after basic training (Air Force). I looked at that picture and thought, man I wish I could put that uniform on again; I still have it in storage. Then came the “moment”, the moment I was pushed to the brink. At a party the next day I was shoving a few chicken wings in my face and a “friend” came up to me and said, “MAN, you are packing the pounds on, aren’t ya?” The next day I pressed play and I transformed my body, mind and spirit.
Oh yeah, as for my military uniform, well it’s a bit too BIG for me!

UPDATE 12/30/04------------------------------------- Well since May 04 i managed to get my weight down to 165 but i didn't like that so i decided to put on some good weight ("muskles"). I did some modifications of p90 all summer and fall and now i have made the X-plunge woo hoo. I start the P90X on new year's eve!!!!!!!!!!!! ORIGINAL May 2004----------------------------------- What a journey, the Power 90 journey. I followed the diet guide and learned new eating habits. Early on there were many doubts but I used the message boards and chat rooms for motivation and inspiration. There are so many great people in the support community that were just like me. They had the same questions, doubts and feeling that I had and they helped me over the rough spots. I would need 5 pages to name all the folks who helped me. The program it self has a great pace to it and Tony is clear in explaining the movements. The best feeling was when I’d get dressed in the morning and the pants were just a little looser then yesterday. My energy was getting greater day by day and I was feeling stronger and leaner. Then the day came, I looked in the mirror and the spare tire was gone and HEY I have shoulders. Thank You Tony and Thank you Beach Body!!!!!!!!!
