I am a 5'8" 45 year old restaurant owner in Texas.
Most days I am focused on running the business. When at home, I attend to chores around the house. However, since I work hard, I also like to play hard. I focus on wake boarding, working on my car (always a work-in-progress), or keeping up with my energetic daughters.
One of my goals is to be able to do a flip on my wake board before my body

Prior to P90X, I participated in an all-round workout at a local gym. My exercise efforts included using the elliptical machines, taking a couple of aerobics classes, and hitting the weights a few days a week.
I really enjoyed and benefited from one of the aerobic classes in particular. I really thought that it was the answer to getting lighter on my feet and improving my cardio health. I was so out of cardio shape that my wake board coach thought that I was a smoker.....(in my defense, the sessions are a very long hour and a half!....eek!). The aerobics instructor, however, went on maternity leave and I was "lost" without a good cardio workout. I later found her on one of Beachbodies DVD workouts!
After suffering a few "stingers" from hard falls during the 2007 season, and with a few additional pounds from my sweet tooth habits, I went searching for the ultimate off season workout. The goal was to find something that would help me trim down, build strength, endurance and flexibility. I needed a program that would help prevent injury and/or eliminate further aggravation of my recuperating injuries.
In answer to my quest, I discovered the P90X program via an infomercial!
When I bought the program I was at a personal high of 198 pounds! My goal was to get down to a strong and flexible 175 pounds before we launched the boat for the 2008 season.
The first 2 weeks were the toughest. I had to completely change my eating habits, and find the right combination of supplements that would help me reach my goals.
With the help of my family, I was able to complete the 90 day program with great results! When I finished the 90 days, I was at a lean 170 pounds! I now carry a six-pack set of abs, something that I never achieved even during my serious workout days of my youth! I am leaner, more flexible, and a firm believer in the yoga program.
Since completing the 90 days, I am now able to complete an entire 90 minute wake board lesson without a break! I can also fit into my life jacket comfortably. But, I had to buy some new board shorts. woo hoo!
Coming from a die-hard cookie/brownie fiend, believe me when I say that amazing results can be achieved. Don't give up on your goals.
oh! I haven't landed the flip yet, but it's only a matter of time on the water now. I have progressed a lot this summer without a single injury or "stinger"!
