Transformation Story

Okay let’s see I’ve battled my weight my whole life. Up until I was 11 I could
eat anything I wanted and not gain an ounce then the summer of my 12th
birthday I ballooned up, and from that More...
Okay let’s see I’ve battled my weight my whole life. Up until I was 11 I could
eat anything I wanted and not gain an ounce then the summer of my 12th
birthday I ballooned up, and from that point on I would yoyo up and down
and up and down. I would go into spurts where I would loose 20 or 30
pounds because I would get into biking for 3 or 4 months or something
would come op so I dropped some weight for the occasion start to look good
then something would happen where I would go back to the comfort food
and then gain it all back and then some. When I turned 39 my (now wife) and
I decided to get married. Well of course with a wedding coming up I decided
that it was time to get back into shape but we both wanted to do it safely so
we joined a weight program. We both lost weight my wife didn’t need to
loose as much as I did, and by the day of our wedding I was down from 265
to 199. I was stoked everyone complemented me and I knew that this was it,
this is how I was going to live the rest of my life. Now granted I really didn’t
have any muscle definition and I was still soft around the middle but no more
Buddha Belly as my kids used to call it. But 6 months later I had gained back
20 pounds 1 year later I had gained back 40 and then back to 259 now I
wasn’t back to the 265 from before but I was bigger than I had been before I
would loose my breath easily and I couldn’t sleep very well. In fact most
nights I would go to sleep about 1:00am and was back up by 3:00am and
would fall back to sleep around 5:30 or 6:00am until I had to wake up for
work at 7:00am.. Finally in March of 07 during one of my non-sleeping
nights I was changing channels and ran across an infomercial for P90X. My
first thought was “Man I would do anything to look like those people! As long
as I can still eat cookies and brownies and oh of course not have to work out.”
But I did watch the whole thing. Then on the next night I watched it again
and thought “Now you know that these things never work out you need
support, you need to ask questions and you need to be around others that
are doing the same thing.” Then a couple of days later I went on line
searching for P90X and went through beach body’s web site. Finally I thought
“Okay you need to do this” so I ordered the P90X program, and when it came
I was soooo excited I ripped open the package and popped in the “Watch this
first” DVD and watched it twice. And thought well I need to get a pull-up
bar, so I ordered that and the recovery drink. Now what I haven’t mentioned
was that I didn’t tell anyone that I was doing this, not my friends, not my
kids and not even my wife. Why??? Well I didn’t want to let them down again.
My daughter had seen me before go from heavy and lethargic to slimmer and
energetic then back to heavy and lethargic. I saw the look on her face when
she said “Daddy you have a Buddha belly again” Now we used to make a joke
of this but it just wasn’t funny anymore. Well as usual while waiting for my
additional products life went on and thinking I shouldn’t start without the
products I talked myself out of doing anything. So I put the DVD’s on my desk
and when other products came in I put those boxes next to my desk as well.
And there they sat from March until July my wife found the boxes and asked
me what they were, when I told her she said well why don’t you try it. Well
that was the last straw, here I am 43, heavy and I just don’t have the energy
to do the thing that I love to do. So with all of that in my head I said “Enough
is enough” So in Aug I finally started now here I am finishing my 6th week.
Yeah it’s been tough, I won’t lie when did my first workout I said “This Tony
guy is nuts! There is no way that any real human can do this.” But they can, I
can, anyone can I’ve dropped 43 pounds as of today and I feel great. I went
from a 46” pants and XXL shirts and just today I put on my old 34” pants and
wear a M or L shirt depending on the style. The chest and arms are snug but
it’s because they are becoming more defined. Not because I should be
wearing a bra. Am I done no way I still have 6 more weeks and this is not a
quick fix this is something that I need to incorporate into the rest of my life. I
want’ to look better than I have in my entire life, heck I want’ to look like the
guys on the video. All I can say is, Thanks Tony for giving me a life better
than I’ve ever had and I’ll let everyone know how things are going.
