Belfair, WA I'm a 30-year-old mom of one beautiful 5-year-old girl. I am also a full-time middle school teacher. I was fat ALL MY LIFE (no exaggeration). In order to be a healthy role model to my child, I began a 6-day/week workout program over two years ago. I am currently in a cycle of fast-paced walking, weight lifting, and dance. I'm a realist -- I don't need to be a body builder. I just want to be healthy and look like a fit, but curvy lady. :)

My story is unlike many others, in that I have not been at a healthy weight since I was a toddler. While my mother prepared healthy foods as a child, we ate far too many unhealthy snacks and desserts, and we NEVER exercised. I hated the very idea of it. After being fat all of my life, I stepped on the scale after childbirth and found myself at 234 pounds. I was horrified. I needed to be a good role model to my child. I started working out on my own with a treadmill and weights. But I needed more. Something motivating, and something fun. I found Hip Hop Abs one day on QVC, and I thought, "I can do that." I ordered it. I have been hooked on Shaun T ever since! While what I was already doing was working, Shaun T's Hip Hop Abs 1, Hip Hop Abs 2, and Rockin' Body completely motivated me and ACCELERATED my weight loss. I have gone from a size 22 to a size 6 (sometimes 4). I have more energy, and I love eating right and working out now. (This is strange for a Southern girl who grew up eating fatty foods and sitting in front of the TV!) I still use all three of Shaun T's programs. I combine my use of the dance videos with face-paced treadmill walking, elliptical jogging, and weight-lifting. It is so surreal to go in a dressing room, try clothes on, and look good in everything. What a transformation!
