I just completed my first 1/2 marathon, The Detroit Free Press on October 18, 2009. I finished in 1:54:45, my goal was to beat 2 hours. I believe that P90X was the number on reason I was able to break the 2 hour mark by over 5 minutes. It taught me diet, fitness, steagth, and heart rate management.

I started June 6, 2009 and wanted to transform my body. I was in pretty good shape for my age, going to the gym 5-6 days a week and working with a personal trainer. I just was not getting the results I wanted. The workouts were a little conservitive with the trainer and I did not follow any diet.

After I got the program I started the diet 2 weeks before the workouts, which I think helped me understand what I was getting in to. It also let my body get used to less calories before starting the very intense workouts with Tony. I have lost a total of 35 lbs and 8.5% body fat. I can see my abs (didn't know I even had them) muscle definition is 100% better and my heart rate went way down. I can now run over 13 miles with a avg. heart rate of 149, with a max of 162, use to be around 175 with a max of 193.

After completing P90X, I have come to find out that eating healthy is a lifestyle change that ended up being a good one. I have had some foods that are not on Michi's Ladder, the food tasted very good but my body did not like it the next day. I now enjoy eating the right foods and that little cheat gives me that satisfies my craving for junk food.
I still work out 7 days a week and feel like I am cheating myself if I don't do something each day.
