A woman in her prime, 36 years-old with 3 children, 2 girls and a boy, ranging in age from under a year to 4 1/2, plus a wonderful hubbie. All the blessings of life surrounding her, including the perks of living in a small, quaint town, with great neighbors who look out for your family and your kids. She even had one set of the kid's grandparents as well as several of their aunts and uncles living close by too. An ideal situation, right? Think again. Dirty, smelly dishes piled high in the kitchen, loving to cook, but no energy to plow through and cook a healthy meal, or a meal at all. Laundry, laundry and more putrid laundry in various stages of undone ness wherever you look. The bathroom not only filthy, but the floor dry-rotting as well. Let's not get into the smells hidden here and there from neglecting to clean-up. What a horrible house-keeper this lady is! Or was she? Many on those outside looking in thought so. But she knew that laziness wasn't her problem. So then what was it? The doctors don't find the problem for a long time and through many tests. All she really knew was that she should be out playing with her kids, enjoying her family, out in the sunshine, riding bikes, or better yet horses, lots of active stuff, and she's in bed most of the time, or vegging because the lack of motivation as well as physical discomfort and fatigue is so great that it has all but paralyzed her for anything productive. Oh and the family trips she forces herself to get ready to go on, only leave her so tired she can't enjoy the views in the car because she's sleeping, or trying to sleep, and once to their destination she can't really do much of anything. On top of all this, she is losing her sight. She gives up her license and so much independence that she once knew. Reading is becoming impossible even with glasses or magnifiers because cataracts have developed on both eyes. What a sad, out of control, life to struggle through. spinning down into a vortex with no way to stop going down. Feeling, sadly enough, that death would be easier than this day-in-day out struggle, but knowing that there must be a way out. A way to stop this uncontrollable, forceful, downward spiral. Like an ocean current taking away her control of every area of her life. Trying to tread water, but swallowing too much to stay afloat. Choking, gagging, with no one to pull her out. Terribly sad story right? That young woman was me nearly 12 years ago. Can you relate to any of that? The life out of control? Or maybe just areas of your life out of control? Maybe it's your finances. Maybe there's just too much month, at the end of the month. Maybe it's exhaustion pulling you down and sapping your will to do the things you dream of. I know how it feels. Let me paint another picture. Sleeping like a baby most nights, and waking rested most mornings. Getting breakfast in a clean kitchen. Literally exercising my fanny off first thing in the morning and having a total blast doing it! When the kids or my husband want to go out and ride bikes, hike or go on a trip I am all in and the first one out the door! My life isn't perfect of course. We all have bumps and imperfections to deal with in ourselves and those around us, but now I can handle those stresses so much better than before. I smile and laugh more, and live a much more abundant, full life than before. I have the motivation and energy to dream big and then actually move towards my dreams. Oh and I sing. Hence the username Sing2u. That's my great passion, to sing for the Lord and encourage others with song. However, even this was set on the back burner 12 years ago because the fatigue made my voice weak and raspy. Life is different now. More joyful, fun and inspiring. What made the difference? Three things. I found out that my thyroid was very low, causing the fatigue and many other health issues. I started on medication for that. Then I had surgery for the cataracts and a 3rd surgery for a retina problem too. Life got so much better. However, I knew that my energy and health could be better still. I knew that all the years of inactivity had left my muscles weak and my weight was becoming a problem as well. It had gotten up to 150 lbs, not much to some, but for me it was a warning that I needed to do something. Even a thin person will be healthier if their muscles are toned. So I started exercising more regularly, but nothing was fun enough to keep me doing it everyday. Enter Turbo Jam. I ripped open the box like it was Christmas in April and watched and did all the workouts immediately. What a blast! I figured out my workout schedule using the book that's included and tweaked my diet a bit too, to cut out some of the unhealthy foods I was still consuming occasionally. My diet was pretty healthy since I have low-blood sugar and have worked hard to avoid the migraines that plague me if I choose to eat junk. Do you desire a better life?
