Went in to see my diabetes specialist in May of 2007 and the results weren't
good. My AC1 was 13 at one point, normal is below 6. I was on two meds to
control my sugar levels and now the doctor was prescribing two more. One
for sugar (injection 2x per day) and one for HBP. I didn't want to go there; I
didn't want to start the downward spiral of medication dependency. I have
been diagnosis since 6/02 and never took the disease serious. My weight has
ballooned as high as 250 pounds over the past two years. I have always
known and felt that medications were addressing the symptoms and masking
the root, my obesity. I knew I had to get serious and change my lifestyle or I
was going to end up dying at an early age or having serious complications.
My oldest son and a church friend were talking about a program called P90X
and how it was no joke. It caught my attention, because being former military
and playing sports when I was younger, it seemed like something I would be
interested in. I fell in love with the program and took it on with a vengeance
against my slothfulness. When the Apostle Paul said, "...I keep under my
body, and bring it into subjection..." he implies that he punches his body in
the eye and drives it like a task master! When I started on May 26, 2007, my
body fought me every step of the way until I made a conscious effort to eat
right with the meal portion plan and push play when I didn't want to. As you
can see the weight and inches started coming off. My doctor was also amazed
and reduced meds to just one medication to normalize my blood sugar from
1,000 mg to 850mg! I feel great and have more energy, flexibility and
confidence. I have included walking, two to four miles a day in the morning
at a 50% to 70% HR. My goal is to be at 193 (Army weight in 1983) by

I have really taken an aggressive
approach with my eating, I am no longer dieting, I "M.E.N.U." (Making Eating
Nutritious and Unregretful) everyday!

My team is growing and I want you to be a part of this new opportunity,
helping people find their very own fitness journey. I know you know someone
who is just waiting for someone to ask them to take a walk together or take a
bike ride. It doesn't take much to encourage someone to be active.

Update: Just returned from the doctor for my semi-annual examine. Blood Sugar A1C came in at 6.2! The doctor wants me to keep doing what Iam doing. I feel great and only called off sick 1 day in the past 10 months and that was a need for more rest.

Update: Started ChaLeanX on 4/6/09 along with Shakeology and have dropped 7 lbs and got my BF% back to 12.9!
