Although my physical activity was pretty low because of my desk job and my long commutes for work, I did a little exercise every now and then, but usually walking the dogs or housework would be as much as I'd get. And quick meals, usually fried or canned or other fast foods were the norm in our family. Then, a surprise car crash on the interstate causing me multiple broken and cracked bones, including a broken sternum, brought my activity to a complete halt. Then another bad surprise, my mother and best friend died of a heart attack while we were preparing Thanksgiving dinner!

Between pain pills and antidepressants and sleeping, I sunk to my lowest level of fitness ever. But was overwhelmed about how to stop the downward slide into morbid obesity. My doctor told me what to do...Eat less and exercise more....but I couldn't seem to do either one. I felt worried all the time and tired all the time and helpless to change. I could not walk up one flight of stairs without resting on the mid point landing! I had to have special handrails installed on both sides to pull myself upstairs.

My upper arms bulged to 22 inches each and I struggled just to put on my shoulder halter, without which I couldn't stand up without pain. It would take me several hours just to get dressed, and after that I would be covered in sweat again. For months I could not use either arm at all due to nerve damage, so I couldn't drive. Eventually I could drive short disctances, but couldn't make it out to get in my car without dripping sweat, even in the cooler months!

It was too difficult to dress for anything other than physical therapy or to go to the doctor or to go get a pain relieving massage, so naturally I stayed home more and more, and that led to further isolation and dispair. Absolutely disgusted with my physical condition, I began crying hysterically to my doctor to please fix me! Give me hormone therapy or something, but he refused to give me diet pills unless I would sign up for Weight Watchers. Weight Watcher meetings were difficult to attend, so I tried the online program. While online I found out about Beachbody.com and ordered Yoga Booty Ballet and Hip Hop Abs. When the DVD's arrived, I was encouraged that I might have a tool to turn my life around. But as I started the program, it was more challenging than I imagined. Those first few months were starts and stops for me. I panted through the workouts and was overwhelmed at the effort it required just to get through the first few times. As lay on the floor breathing heavily and wondering if I was just destined to be a beached whale, I made a decision. I decided to do the program every day even if I just watched and listened. I set a workout time and disciplined my schedule to do the workout, even if it meant starting and stopping the video several times in order to complete a full workout. I was barely able to move at first, so as my rusted joints and sore muscles gained in flexibility and strength, I had many private moments of victory which I yearned to share somehow.

And BOY! was I sore! First from the automobile injuries, and now from the exercise, too! Sometimes I wondered how I could keep doing this. But thankfully something told me that it's now or never, and I didn't quit. I just kept pushing, no matter how slow I was. I tried to think of my soreness as a warning sign that I needed this desperately. Since I was in physical therapy and seeing a massage therapist, the support I got from them helped alot, and eventually I could see that my body was rejuvenating.

I didn't log onto WOWY at first, and I think this is one thing that slowed me down. Because after I joined Team Beachbody and started taking Shekeology, things got instantly easier for me, and my results were immediately quicker and I stopped feeling hungry. Before Shakeology I felt hungry all the time no matter how much or how little I ate. Before the SuperGYM, I felt somewhat closeted and isolated. Now I had a three pronged support, exercise, nutrition and support. So, becoming a Coach was the Turbo Boost, and I have been on a roll toward incredible fitness ever since.

WOWY and Shakeology greatly increased my momentum. I was able to consistently track my progress, get customized nutrition guidance and find people going through challenges just like me to encourage me. Now I see what it means to be part of a virtual community. I know that meeting people in the digital world can lead to friendships, and strong personal ties can grow this way. If I move away, they come with me wherever there is an internet access!

Since I am now an Independent Beachbody Coach, I can see my Buddies at a future Coach Meetings, maybe even in Hawaii!

I'm thankful I saw that Yoga Booty Ballet web site and ordered it and the Hip Hop Abs program. the workouts got me through some tough times physically and emotionally. Exercising pulled me out of my depression. Since I felt so alone and isolated, it meant the world to me that Shaun T. made me believe he was talking personally to me. I always felt better after our working out together, and the Beachbody program was the safety line that pulled me out of that deep well of despair and disgust and helplessness.

Now, I'm definitely committed to a lifestyle change for good, no start and stop date. I've found a the Fountain of Youth.. and am growing younger, not older!

My choice to make fitness and nutrition a priority was born of necessity to keep myself from dying from bronchitis or heart disease. I had to change or die, and I am so glad something can to my rescue. I plan to climb the ladder of Health and Wellness and never go back to Disease and Sickness again! With the support of my teammates, and the Beachbody tools, I see no reason to ever return to the ignorance of my past. My fit body is a defense against future injuries and an insurance policy that I can recover from distress more surely. Besides, it just FEELS better livng day to day now.

Even before my car crash, with my sedentary job and my long commutes and various family and church commitments, exercise got overlooked. Now I make it a top priority and now I can do everything else better because I am more energetic.

If my car accident and subsequent depression hadn't caused me to hit rock bottom, get disgusted with myself and finally do something about my weight then I might still be gradually gaining and growing into bigger and bigger clothes, gasping for breath whenever I had to exert myself. I was obese before the car accident, having gained 60 pounds since I started marriage at 128 pounds, I was 188 at the crash and ballooned to 248 thereafter. Now I am back down to 188 and motivated to keep going back to 128 again!

More than anyone else who helped me, I need to give special thanks to my Coach Bear Shelton. He has been in touch with me each week since becoming my Coach, and he encouraged me to go for Coach status, too! That sort of "made" me try the Shakeology, which has been the best decision for well being I have made yet! Shakeology and exercise.

I lucked up with Yoga Booty Ballet and Hip Hop Abs. They saved my body and my sanity. So, it's ironic, isn't it, that Shaun T. named his newest program "Insanity®", cause he saved me from possible REAL insanity!

Thank you, Beachbody® for helping me get a healthful body! Thanks and love!
