After many triathlons and completing Ironman Lake Placid, I finally realized I was not meeting my fitness, weight, and body fat goals...quite simply, several factors were inhibiting me from being in the best shape of my life! Yes I was able to build my endurance and finish a 140.6 mile Ironman, but several key factors were holding me back from being the best I could possible be. First, endurance training had zapped my time and energy and I stopped training in the gym with weights. This type of highly intense endurance training allowed my body burn quite a bit of the muscle that I had gained over many years of weight training. Secondly, plain and simply speaking, my diet sucked! I knew the importance of eating correctly and properly fueling the body, but in an effort to maintain the strength and energy needed to endurance train, I was taking in way too many calories and therefore not shedding the weight and burning the calories that I was capable of burning with such intense training required to complete an Ironman. Knowing how important nutrition is, before buying the P90X program, I got my hands on the P90X Nutrition Plan and immediately knew that this was the program for me. The journey with Tony Horton and P90X continues......but I've 100% committed myself to P90X and living a healthy and fit lifestyle.
