I was athletic as a child and began playing tennis from the age of 8 through my college years. During my academic career, I was involved in Hi! My name is Judy Rangel. Before my children, I was considered slim or petite. I was athletic as a child and began playing tennis from the age of 8 through my college years. During my academic career, I was involved in various sports ranging from softball, badminton, to track and field. I was never into weight training or working out but I stayed pretty thin using all the wrong "diet methods" up until I got married. However, once my daughter was born, I began to see dramatic changes in my weight and self-confidence. I told myself during pregnancy that I wouldn't gain tons of weight but, I couldn't help it and I ended up "eating for two". Needless to say, I went from 102 to a whooping 138 in 9 months! Now, I know that might not sound so dramatic to some, but being only 5'1" (5'2" on a good day), the pounds showed on my mid section, thighs, arms and face. I was in denial however, and refused to believe I had gained so much, until I looked at a picture of myself during my birthday party one year which looked pretty bad. (my before picture above) My complexion was awful and I had horrible blemishes throughout my face. I had about three rolls along my midsection and I remember almost always wearing black to conceal my weight. It was quite obvious I wasn't healthy at all. I didn't like to take pictures and if I did, it was either with my baby or my friends and family. My husband said that I would lose the baby weight eventually, but when almost 2 years went by and I actually gained a few more pounds, I feared that my husband was wondering to himself why my "baby" weight was still there. I didn't want to be unattractive to him and I would get upset if I thought for a second he was looking at other prettier, thinner women. One day while shopping with my mom at Macy's, I decided to try on some dresses in the fitting room that had those 3-sided mirrors. I couldn't believe what I saw! The back of my thighs and my buttocks looked like cottage cheese! I was horrified to see this "rippling" effect that I started crying. What a wake-up call! Needless to say, I didn't buy anything that day, or anything else for a while. Finally, I had had it with how I looked in pictures and in the mirror. I knew I had to do something quick! I needed to regain my pre-pregnancy body and my self esteem quickly or else I might fall into a deep depression and lose everything I loved. So, I set a goal to lose all the baby weight. I decided to run and strength train on my own at first. When I saw some results, I was so estatic! But the problem was I had plateued and didn't know what else to do next. I didn't have a trainer, and I couldn't afford the money or time to join the gym. My body had gotten used to my workout routines that I didn't see any other changes in my body. Then, I found Beachbody! I am so thankful for being introduced to Beachbody by my co-worker/friend. I have now found excercise programs that are exciting, fun, affordable and fits my lifestyle! I can workout at home and not have to worry about babysitting or paying monthly membership fees at the gym. I remember seeing Turbo Jam and P90X on the informercials and wondered if these programs would work for me. Now I know that they do! My body is constantly feeling better and more toned everyday! I'm feeling muscles I never thought I had until I started my workout programs from Beachbody. My "cottage cheese" is now a distant memory. And I can't imagine NOT working out on WOWY (Work Out With You) and to Turbo Jam and P90X! I truely believe that life is meant to be abundant in all areas of life, from family, work, to personal achievements! You're meant to fulfill your dreams, no matter how big or small! I started my workout regime towards the end of 2006, about a year after my daughter was born. I had seen enough rolls on my midsection to realize I had to do something. I first began lightly jogging and walking a mile around my neighborhood block the first couple of days, then gradually moved up to a light jog in four days. Then I went from one mile to a mile in a half and then two. After my jog, I would use 5 lbs. dumbells and work on my arms. I began to notice a change in my body almost instantly, (about a couple of weeks) due to the cardio. So, feeling excited, I kept right on working out about 4 times a week. After a couple of years doing the same excercises, my body plateued and I didn't see anymore changes to my physique. Then, I got on the Turbo Jam and P90X programs. Tony Horton and Chalene Johnson make working out fun and invigorating! It has been 85 days from the start of my workout regimes, and I am seeing real results! My hamstrings are getting buff! I can feel and see my hamstring muscles protrude when I flex! My arms are getting stronger and more toned, and my waistline is shrinking. But what is real exciting for me is that my buttocks are more round and shapely! I can feel my pants "filling out" more when I wear pants! I know that taking my P90X supplements, whey protein powder and the P90X recovery drinks are helping my body get to its optimal condition. I can't wait until my 90 and 120 day results! My ultimate goal is to still lose the little side love handles and gain a toned 6-pack in my abs. I am confident I will reach my goals, with the help of my Beachbody workout programs and supplements. I'm going to work my hardest and push play everyday. I can't wait to post my 90-day!
