Hoffman Estates, IL I'm a 45 year old gay male living in the Chicago area. I've been kind of a couch potato for most of my life. I did do Body for Life back in 2000 and after it was in the best shape of my life! Over the following few years, the weight crept back as my lack of activity, and slowing metabolism took it's toll..ugh! After seeing a picture of myself on vacation in St. Maarten last November I decided I'm a 45 year old gay male living in the Chicago area. I've been kind of a couch potato for most of my life. I did do Body for Life back in 2000 and after it was in the best shape of my life! Over the following few years, the weight crept back as my lack of activity, and slowing metabolism took it's toll..ugh! After seeing a picture of myself on vacation in St. Maarten last November I decided something had to change (it wasn't pretty!). My cholesterol and blood sugar were elevated which did not bode well for my future. Finally, in February of 2009, at a peak weight of 257.5 lbs, I took the bull by the horns and started working out again. I went through Body for Life, since I knew the program and knew if worked. I lost 30 lbs after 2 1/2 months. However, I became bored with the routines and didn't have much direction in my workouts. A buddy of mine told me about P90X and I checked it out. I bought the DVD's and after watching the first workout, I decided it was a little too intense for me right now. So, on June 2, 2009 I started Power 90, as my boot camp for P90X :) I've lost a total of 40 lbs so far, and am looking forward to more weight loss and overall improving health. I also started the C25K running program with the goal of running a 5K. What, me a runner? Who would have thunk it..but I actually am enjoying it!
I'd love to find a few workout buddies to help and encourage each other.

I started Power 90 a month ago and am ready to start phase two in the next week! My cholesterol is down from 205 to 168! I want to lose more weight, build some muscle, with the ultimate goal of having a nice, lean, toned body that I should have had in my 20's and 30's! It's never too late!
