I'm 52 years old, married with two children, a daughter, 28, that has two children of her own ("Pa's Girls") with another one on the way, and a son, 21. I am the General Manager of a company that owns three movie theaters, commercial rental properties, and a retail store. I am pretty much on the clock 24/7. Not that I work that many hours, but I'm on call all of the time. I learned of Beachbody from my Martial Arts instructor Shane Hamilton. When he first told me about it I was very interested in it, but I was concerned about the time required to do the work out, not to mention trying to make other people aware of the opportunities of improving their health and financial well being. I had never had much of a problem with my weight until I turned 40. I was involved in sports through high school, then after school I started working in construction, which kept me in decent shape. I took a desk job as a General Manager at a chain hotel when I was 32, and started to put on a few pounds. I found out that I had a cholesterol problem when I was 42. I tried exercising dieting on my own and although it dropped 50 points, that wasn't enough. I have been taking medication for that and osteoarthritis from that point. I enrolled in Karate with my son when I was 44, which helped me get in better shape, but I still needed something I could do every day. Going back to the time issue. I found that if I take the time required to do a particular workout plus about 10 to 15 minutes for prep, and subtract it from the time I normally get out of bed, that will give me the time I need to start my workout. That time ended up being 5:30 am, which isn't easy, but I don't have any interruptions or distractions. So much for the lame excuse of "I don't have time". Once I started the workouts I found it easier to share the Beachbody experience with others, because I feel better about myself and would like for others to have that feeling as well. My overall goal is to reduce or eliminate the meds that I am currently on, lose weight, build and tone muscle, and increase my personal income. I feel like with Beachbody the sky is the limit for both my physical and financial well being, and it could be for you as well! I became aware of beachbody through my Martial Arts instructor, Master Shane Hamilton. I thought I was in good shpe for my age when I began my studies under him, I was 44. It didn't take long to figure out that I wasn't in as good shape as I thought. He slowly and methodically whipped me into the best shape that I had been since my high school days. I took about six months off my martial arts training at the beginning of 2008 to help care for my mother. At that time I began to fall behind on my physical condition. When I started back I was fifteen pounds heavier and my stamina was not good. Over the next year I lost about ten pounds, but I couldn't get rid of the spare tire I had acquired. During that time Master Shane was doing the P90X program and I watched him transform before my eyes. If I had not seen it myself I would not have beleived it. I would have said that they had doctored the before and after pictures, but I actually wittnessed the drastic change in his physical condition. He encouraged me to try the program and assured me that I could complete it. He being my teacher, and observing my workouts twice a week knew my physical condition, therefore I was confident of his assesment. He warned me that it would push me to my absolute limit, (and it has) but that is what I was looking for. I am beginning the fourth week of P90X. I completed 2 weeks of Power 90 before that. When I started I weighed 157,on a 5'8" frame, my waist was 38". At this time, I weigh 150 and my waist is 36-1/2". I hope to get my waist to 34 or less and build and tone muscle. This program has been a great experience. My energy level has increased and my state of mind is the best it's been in forever. I am taking the core nutrition pack and that has contributed to my progress greatly. My wife, who has fibromyalgia which is a disorder that includes muscle deterioration, chronic fatigue, depression, and other symptoms, started taking the nutrition pack and she says her energy level has increased, which helps her state of mind. She now feels that she is ready to start a workout program as well. This is from someone who after a day of light housework is in the bed for a couple days in intense pain. This is just the beginning of a wonderful journey, physically, mentally, and financially. I would like for you to join me, and many others like me as we improve our health and financial well being.
