I am tired of mediocrity. I am tired of being described as "husky", or hearing "you're not really fat" when actually I am. When I went to the doctor in January 2006 for an annual check up, I figured my cholesterol might be a little high, or my blood pressure might be up just a tad, etc, etc. That ended up being the least of my worries. What I didn't count on was being told that my fasting blood sugar was 222! I was diagnosed as being type 2 diabetic and I freaked out. The thing that immediately came to mind were other problems subsequent to diabetes such as heart disease, cancer, or eventually losing limbs. I currently control my diabetes with a tablet and diet. I am hopefully going to be able to get off the medication after I start P90X. I look forward to a better quality of life through P90X and the wonderful, supportive community.
