Mississauga, ON I am engineer in Ontario. When I got laid off in 2005, I got really depressed and tried a different career. I ate a lot of fast food and went from doing Triathlons to having trouble running 5k.
Now I am back on track in my professional life. I want to be back to the same if not better shape I was before. I have been trying to get lean and mean back to my old traithlon picture. However, I haven't been watching what I am eating just eating when I am hungry, or depressed, or frustrated. So I started P90X classic. It was tough but after a month of it I realized that the program was to get ripped and get some massive power boosts. I then went to the Lake Placid Ironman to watch my father in law finish it and he is 61. I saw a 73 year old man, a 65 year old woman, a person who had gotten hit by a bus finish Ironman. I thought to myself what is my excuse? I have decided that the end goal might be to do Triathlons again but its not a single step process. So I listed out my obstacles. I have joint pain, most likely due to the weight gain, and it is tougher to run 10K. So I am going to keep up with P90X and start Phase 2 on August 10, 2009. As well, try to start doing Run intervals at Lunch or at night. After that, I am going to try Insanity. I know it is going to be a long road, but hopefully this website I will track my progress and goals and get into the best shape of my life. Update (August 17, 2009), Well I have booked a trip to the Philippines where I will see my family and distant relatives and where there are white sandy beaches. Thus I have 152 days to go from looking like the Pilsbury dough boy to a Super Saiyan (blond hair not included). So the goal is to hit 140 lbs! So P90D, Rockin body and maybe Insanity, (depending how I feel with only 60 days left).
