A little bit about me:
I'm 38, very happily married with a son 6, and a daughter 4. I was always very active and had no weight issues until college. I raced bicycles semi-professionally for a while between high school and college. Semi-Pro means that you ride a lot but don't get paid for it :)
College life didn't do my fitness levels any favors. Sure, we'd play volleyball at the beach or a pick-up game of soccer or something but no real consistency. As I moved on into the workforce, I found myself sitting on my butt 8-10 hours a day, eating what was convenient to my office. I was 170 lbs when I graduated college. Not too bad, but fast forward to 2007 and I found myself at 215. My daughter asked me one day,"Do you have a baby in your tummy, Daddy"?
That was it. I started looking around for something to do. I bought a new bike but my schedule just didn't allow time to ride it much. Then, one day I saw the infomercial for P90X. Now I have done all kinds of workouts from kickboxing to Yoga, and none of did much to motivate me. I wanted a program that was going to push me to my limit. A program that let me know that, if I did not see results, it was my own fault! P90X is that program, hands down. I have been through boot camp training in my local gym that didn't do what P90X did in the first 3 weeks! I am almost to my ideal weight goal. So far P90X has relieved me of 43 lbs of fat and given me loads of energy. It is truly amazing what P90X and some dedication can do.
This is a journey for me, a revival of sorts and a commitment to get into the best shape of my life and stay there, for me and the ones that I love. I also commit to spread the fever for this lifestyle by leading by example.
It is not easy to get up at 5:30 every morning and hit that play button, especially knowing what's coming some days. Going against the grain isn't easy, especially in today's culture of instant gratification and indulgence. It has made us all fat and lazy. No more. Not for me. I'm taking my life back. If you are looking to take yours back, I will be your greatest fan and will be glad to partner with you to help you reach your goals.
