I am a 39 year old busy stay-at-home mom of 4 (including 2 teenage step-kids) born and raised in Colombia, but currently living in California. I was headed down the path of obesity when I was in college, and am thankful I've turned around. You see, when I was a little girl, I was very thin; I never thought I'd have the weight problems my mom was facing and continued to battle by yo-yo dieting. So, I didn't watch what I ate and I certainly didn't exercise much. I kept gaining weight in highschool, and got to a size 12. In college, all that "wonderful" cafeteria food and very little exercise made me gain even more weight and, to my horror, I got up to a size 16 and got gall bladder problems; my body just couldn't process any more fats. I realized then and there that I needed to do something about my health or else I'd be obese and have terrible health problems just like my aunts and my uncle, and even my mom.

When I got married, my first husband told me I looked better with my clothes on, and would tell me how much he wanted to be with other girls who had gorgeous bodies. Well, that certainly didn't help my self-esteem, and I was even more motivated to lose weight and get healthy, so I started exercising and eating healthier meals.

I lost a lot of weight, and got extremely skinny, but I certainly did not like the way I looked. I needed to gain muscle and I needed to just simply live a healthy lifestyle without being obsessed with the scale. I had a lot of health problems too. I constantly had migraines, horrible stomach cramps, and terrible allergies. I had to do something.

So, I joined a company called Young Living Essential Oils. Their therapeutic-grade oils and products made with these oils changed my life completely. My migraines and allergies disappeared, and my stomach cramps were also gone. In addition, my immune system improved so the common cold and the flu don't get me down at all. I love it. Young Living definitely helped me get healthy.

Now I needed to find a way of getting fit as well. I was gaining weight, but it was body fat, not muscle. Working out at a gym would not work for me now that I was married and had kids, and walking kept my weight down but certainly did not build muscle. I had to find a way to accomplish my fitness goals from home. So, I joined Team BeachBody. Their fitness programs worked!! I have so much fun exercising at home with Hip Hop Abs, Turbo Jam and ChaLEAN Extreme, that I just always look forward to my exercise time every morning. It's convenient, and they keep me motivated the whole way through the workout. I love it!!

I have realized that if I want to be fit and healthy for a lifetime, I can not rely on things that will give me just temporary results. I need to make LIFESTYLE changes, and that is what Young Living and Team BeachBody are helping me to do. I love to tell others about these companies so they too can experience a lifetime of fitness and health =)

Update August 2009:
I am on the last month of my second round of ChaLEAN Extreme. My core is tightening up and my arms are leaner. My back and muscles are strong and more defined. I love the way ChaLEAN Extreme is helping me meet my goal to tone and firm up! I am also learning not to be so reliant on the scale, which definitely does not tell the whole story.

Update November 2, 2009
I was ready for a switch after 7 and a half months of ChaLEAN Extreme. Today I started RevAbs and I can tell I will totally love it. Didn't much like the "Mercy Abs" routine because I don't like floor work, but I totally loved the Total Strenght routine. Challenging, yet fun, and I know very effective.

What have I achieved so far? A much higher self-esteem. I no longer rely on the scale and measurements to feel like I've accomplished results. Just looking in the mirror and seeing my pictures now keeps me motivated. I change my routine every so often to make it fun, and my changing the routine, I am also making my body work differently, thereby not plateuing. BeachBody rocks!!
