In high school, I was the captain of the wrestling team every year since 7th grade and the football team my senior year. After high school, I joined the Navy where I started getting in even better shape until one day on my ship I herniated a disc at L5 S1. Then, it pretty much all stopped. No more running, no more rowing, no more heavy lifting. In addition to significant lower back pain, I was also left with permanent nerve damage where part of my left calf muscle is numb. And that pretty much sucks. Well, needless to say, after a few years, I was putting on a few pounds and getting soft and I wasn't really a big fan of that. So I finally came to the realization that pain is just a part of life. And if you let the pain run your life, it defines your character. And that's not how I want to be defined. So P90X it is. The key to me getting through this program is modification. I know I can't do everything on these videos, because some things just put too much pressure on my lower back. So I have to modify them. There's really not much that I can't do. And these workouts are so thorough, that everything still gets covered and I'm still well on my way to my goals.

In progress... I've been through P90X once. Amazing results so far. But something is definitely missing. I'm going to start again soon, but this time focus more on my diet. I've had to take a break for a while and I may need to modify some of the workouts, due to recent back surgery. But I think I'm ready and I'm going to give it a try.
I'm also going to try to mix in some new work outs with Tony. Probably some Shaun T My current "after" photo was taken after my post surgery sedetary period. So it doesnt show the full results from the program.
