after lifting heavy weights & running a lot over the last 20 or so years, in the last 2 years i have suffered multiple injuries (from a pulled hammy to a sports hernia) & have nagging sore & weak areas. after gaining "marriage weight" i became half of the beast i was on the soccer field & in the gym & my diet consisted of mostly fast food & alcohol. i finally hit rock bottom after having constant soreness & tightness in my back, obtaining a beer belly & having guys run circles around me on the soccer pitch. after seeing the p90x infomercials over & over again i finally decided to give it a full effort so i purchased the dvd set & haven't looked back or regretted it since. after following the food portion approach, using the recovery drink, getting 2-3 extra running sessions in per week & bringing it 6 days per week with the workouts, i look & feel like i am at least 10 years younger & i still haven't completed phase one. my clothes fit better, i have more energy throughout the day & i am running down everyone again on the soccer pitch. just when i thought about slowing down with soccer, running & weightlifting, p90x has been a fountain of youth for this formerly battered body. in the words of my wife: "you look great, i looked up one day & your body has changed".
