I have always enjoyed a variety of sports through high school and college however, I ate whatever I wanted and still remained thin due to an active metabolism. After college, I spent three years traveling through Europe and Asia as tennis pro. I lived in Austria and Malaysia for the greater My life has been filled with rich blessings. I have always enjoyed a variety of sports through high school and college however, I ate whatever I wanted and still remained thin due to an active metabolism. After college, I spent three years traveling through Europe and Asia as tennis pro. I lived in Austria and Malaysia for the greater part of the time and learned to speak German fluently. Following my 3 year World journey I traveled back to my hometown of Wilmington, Delaware to visit my parents. My parents worked in a successful family business and were disappointed by my decision to move to Los Angeles, California to become an elementary school teacher. To add, after substitute teaching and working as a full-time sixth grade teacher for a year, I went back to school to complete a teacher credential for single subject physical education. I worked full-time as a physical education teacher in East Los Angeles teaching junior high students. Physical education has always been a passion and with my background in professional tennis, basketball, baseball, and cross country I was excited and happy teaching 7th and 8th grade P.E. Unfortunately due to budget cuts I was laid off. I went back to school and studying for two years, to complete the credential program to instruct special education students. I have been working with special education students for the last 17 years. Working with special education students has been very rewarding for me however it can be stressful and challenging. Therefore, it has been essential for me to stay healthy and keep my weight at a healthy level. For most of my career I have stayed fit but not optimally fit. I have been battling weight issues for the last seven years. I did not realize the importance of diet until my metabolism slowed down once I reached age 40. I would gain and lose twenty pounds five different times. I was missing the key ingredient to optimal fitness that being proper diet and knowing when to eat. Fortunately, I discovered P90X in February and started the diet and exercise program in March 2009. Since employing the concepts and philosophy of Team Beachbody I have steadily lost weight and body fat. The key ideas to keep in mind are to take one day at a time and realize that it will take time to make a change and that being healthy requires awareness and discipline as a way of life. The result of my efforts has taken me to living life in a level of optimal fitness! Since January 2009 I lost a total thirty-three pounds and over 15% body fat most coming off after March, and I know I can progress from this point and continue to develop my body and mind. Hello! My name is John, and I am a Beachbody success story. I am 47 years-old, married, and the father of a five month old baby daughter. In my 20 year career as a high school teacher, I have gone up and down with my weight five separate times. Thanks to the Beachbody products and focus on daily diet and exercise I am now in the best shape of my life with the knowledge to stay there! Since January 2009, I have dropped over 30 lbs., 12% bodyfat, and 6 inches from my waist! I am here to tell you, these products work!! To date I am working out daily with P90X, running 4 miles, and walking 2 miles daily. I keep my diet clean and I am eating about 2300 calories of quality food a day. To strengthen, I take the beachbody supplements and now I aspire to assist others to achieve their personal fitness goals and become Team Beachbody Coaches themselves. Furthermore, one of the most rewarding experiences of being a High School teacher, fitness instructor and beachbody coach is watching people succeed, change their lives and their circumstances by focusing on their goals. In the fitness realm this usually means losing weight and developing healthy lifestyle habits. It did not happen overnight for me. My routine/program of diet and exercise demands work and consistency. I need to be conscious about what, when and how much food I consumed. There is no magic or easy solution that I know about. Thanks to the beachbody philosophy I have the energy to maintain over 60 hours of work a week, and still have strength to fulfill my family obligations, earn a good living, and complete my daily running and p90x workouts.
