I am a 32 year old husband and father of 3 great kids. I have wrestled with my weight my whole life... until now. I played division-I college tennis and was active as a kid, but I still was always "big boned" or "heavy." It never failed, no matter what I was the "big guy."

I spent the last 8 years yo-yo dieting. I tried them all...Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers, etc. I lost great weight

One year ago I weighed in at an impressive 265lbs! I am 6'3" and got a way with carrying extra weight because I was so tall. People would say things like, "You carry it well." Which is code for, "you are fatter than you look!" I was miserable with how I looked and felt. The bad part was this was not the peak for me. I had been heavier! At one point I was 285lbs! I was every buffet's worst nightmare!

I continued to play a lot of tennis, but really struggled because of my fitness.

In 2007, I was part of a competitive men's tennis team that had a great season in the USTA Men's 4.5 division. It was a great ride all the way to Nationals, but I was fighting hard with my fitness the whole season. I pulled my chest late in the regular season and went to physical therapy. I was so out of shape it was not funny. It was literally like putting humpty dumpty back together again.

The icing on the cake was when my now 8 year-old started asking me about being "fat."

So I knew it was time for a change. In late 2007/early 2008 we had joined a new gym. I got on weight watchers and started running! I felt like I was trying out for Forrest Gump! Lot's of treadmill time. It worked! I lost lots of weight. I got down to about 240lbs. But then something happened. I got stuck. No matter how hard or far I ran, I could not lose more weight. I also was not getting a total body workout. I simply was tired all of the time. Then I pulled my hamstring trying to go crazy on the treadmill. That was it...I needed something more.

I went on a business trip, shortly after my hamsting injury, to NYC! I was laying in bed trying to digest a ginormous steak I consumed for dinner and eventually gave into to the TV. It was 2am and I started flipping. Then I saw Tony Horton for the first time. He was talking about a program called P90x and something about muscle confusion. Well...I am not sure if it was the steak or the fatigue, but I was really buying this stuff.

It made sense...I have worked out enough in my life to fully understand that everything this guy was saying was right on! I had to have this program. I got online right then and there and started searching. It was awesome. I quickly learned that people that had tried this program were in love with it. It was almost crazy how much they loved the program.

Was this too good to be true?

Simply put no. I ordered it and started to clean out the cabinets of junk food! It was time to get serious! For the next 90 days I battled! I battled Tony yelling at me on the TV telling me to get to my maximum reps, to burn some goo, and to get 'em up! I battled my diet and made sure that no matter what pressures there were to cheat, I avoided them! I could do anything for 90 days right?!

Well I hit all the major milestones - Day 30 was great, Day 60 was better, and Day 90 was UNREAL! Was that me?! People were amazed at how much I had changed, but no one more so than me. I was floored. I still can't believe that is my body in the mirror, well at least the part that is left!

I am now one of those people that loves it. I am an advocate of P90x in a big way. My mission is to give back. I want to make sure that people that need help getting in shape find out about this program and get through it. I loved getting in shape, but I love helping others get in shape much more! It keeps me motivated to know that others are out there bringing it everyday!

So today I write this , 201lbs. I am fit, no longer fat. I am strong, no longer weak. I bring it everyday and try to make the best eating choices to feed the new me.

Bring it!
