I've been 35 to 40 pounds overweight for a few years now and I’ve never worked out to any program before, which is a very new experience to me. But so far my energy level has gone up and I feel a little better about looking at myself in the mirror. I used to wear black clothes to try and hide my bulging belly. It even got to the point where I would wear those long shirts that look like maternity clothes just to hide my fat. Passing by a mirror was very unpleasant for me, my confidence level was really low. But since I've been working out to Hip Hop Abs for 12 weeks I'm really starting to shed those inches and pounds. I feel better when I put my clothes on and I’ve even started checking myself out in the mirror more with a smile on my face because I’m starting to like what I see. ;-) No more wearing those big shirts to try and hide my fat. I have a new found look on life now. I never knew that a decision like changing your eating habits and working out would improve my self esteem and my health as much as it has.
I’ve made a commitment to work out everyday when I get off of work. I’ve even added power walking to my workouts. I walk 6 miles every weekend and I try to do an extra mile if I have any more left in me. This life decision has changed not only my life but the life’s of the ones I love dearly. My mother has decided to start working out and changing her eating habits. I’m so excited for her and she may not know this but she’s very much an inspiration to me. And together we’ll get to where we really want and need to be.
