My story isn't all that dramatic, but it is likely a common one. I turned 40 in October of 2007. Over the past few years I watched myself putting on weight and I did nothing to stop it. When I got married 15 years ago I weighed 185 lb, now at 40 I was 200 lb and flabby. I always felt sluggish and tired. The bottom line is, I made a conscious decision to get in better health.

It all started this fall when I was looking at some pictures from a summer beach vacation. I saw myself in a bathing suit and it wasn't an image I liked. I visited with my brothers this summer and we went tubing, and when it was my turn to take off the shirt, I could see the looks....I was embarrassed. The comments from the wife while constructive and in no way malicious, served as a big motivator.

I'm a pharmaceutical sales rep by trade. Through my training and work I've come to understand a lot about coronary artery disease, heart attacks, and strokes. While I often spoke to Doctors about risk factors for these terrible events, I never considered my own risk factors...

My eating habits were pretty poor, especially at work since I'm on the road all day. I was eating lots of fast food, all you can eat chineese food buffets, etc.

One day I saw the P90X infomercial and I though it looked interesting. Like most things I purchase, I have a habit of researching the daylights out of it on the web. I came accross the MDB website and found the forums. I was amazed. Being an infomercial, I was sceptical. Usually, the folks using the excercise equipment in those seem to be models. But the MDB website and the results people were posting was inspiring. And the support they were giving each other was awesome.

Well, I decided to look into the P90X thing...and after reading many forum posts, and checking into the fitness test for P90X, I decided to start with P90 first. So, I began the journey on October 3rd and have not stopped yet! I'm still a work in progress, but already I'm seeing real results.
