I started p90x in December 2007 as a 40th birthday present to myself. I completed the first round in February and am in the best shape of my life! Though I built muscle and increased my cardiovascular fitness, I did not achieve the weight loss or muscle definition that I had hoped to achieve. I gained weight and increased from my size 2 to a size 6. During my first round I did not follow the diet I started p90x in December 2007 as a 40th birthday present to myself. I completed the first round in February and am in the best shape of my life! Though I built muscle and increased my cardiovascular fitness, I did not achieve the weight loss or muscle definition that I had hoped to achieve. I gained weight and increased from my size 2 to a size 6. During my first round I did not follow the diet plan because I knew I couldn't stick it out through the holidays. So now as I begin round 2 of p90x I am giving up the diet soda and sticking to the ladder.
My goals are to lose fat and inches, continue to increase strength (I could only do 1-3 pull-ups by the end) and maintain a healthy diet.
I started p90x, in part, because arthritis runs in my family and my doctor thought I might be developing it. My doctor discouraged me from intense exercise and recommended yoga and pilates. I started two years ago with those exercise and worked my way up to p90x and was able to complete the program. Since completing p90x my doctor is happy with both the strength and flexibility that I gained. I find my symptoms have decreased and I have more energy. Thanks Beachbody, Tony and friends!

I completed round one with p90x. See my bio for more information. I am proud of my effort. I gained strength, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and my overall health is better. However, I did gain mass and weight. This round is off to a good start. I am hoping to lower body fat and decrease inches.
DAY 30 ROUND 2 of P90x. My resting heart rate is 64- was 72 and I have lost 1.5 inches off my waist and one inch off each arm and leg. My weight has not changed. My strength has improved. I can do more push ups than ever- 20 of the stacked foot, where I could only do 5 before, for example. Pull-ups are still a struggle. I'm going to keep working on it.
