My Photos | kellip Louisville, WV I am 32 and have an awesome career as a university English professor. I am married to a very energetic and fantastic person who appreciates fitness as well. I have had great success with all of the programs, but I am struggling a bit to get back in shape after having a baby last September. I'm ready to rock it again and want to be a hot mom! Like many others, I skeptically ordered Slim in 6 early in March 2004. Many weekends prior to that, I watched the commercials and liked what I saw, but as a sucker for infomercials (especially exercise programs), I hesitated to order because I just knew it would end up the same way: I’d be gung-ho about it for a few weeks but I wouldn’t see results so I’d quit or get discouraged. Well, after watching the commercial for the 20th time, I decided, “what the heck…it comes with a money back guarantee, it’s only 6 weeks of my life—I have nothing to lose.” My tapes came in right before my trip back home to Louisiana (where there’s always an abundance of food), so when I got back, I was ready to get with it. I did the Fast Start the weekend before I started the exercise program, and although I started to question my sanity, I made it through the Fast Start and felt so good Monday morning. The Fast Start really killed my negative cravings and instilled a serious will to commit to the program. On Monday morning, March 21, 2004, I popped in Start it Up, saw that it was only 24 minutes, and thought, “This will be a piece of cake!” I even did the Abs tape that morning. Well, let’s just say that workout kicked my butt more than I could imagine. I woke up the next morning, sore as anything, and couldn’t believe it! After that first week, I lost 6 pounds, which may not seem like a lot, but I had tried for years to lose just 6 pounds and never could—I was hooked! During the six weeks, I did my best to follow Diet Plan 1 in the 6-day Express plan because it seemed extremely sensible and was vegetarian-friendly. I also wrote down my daily food intake and how much water I drank. Although I didn’t consider myself extremely overweight before, it felt so good to try on clothes that were tight or that hadn’t fit me in years. Within five weeks, those clothes became too big for me, and people started to really notice. If someone asked me what I was doing, I would go into a 30-minute spiel about Slim in 6, and they were probably sorry they commented on my weight loss. On the other hand, I think a few co-workers have ordered the program, and I’m anxious to see their success. What I liked most about Slim in 6 was that I was losing weight and toning up but without the added bulk. I’d done other aerobics programs before, but I always seemed to get bulky muscle, especially in the rea. I’m already a few weeks into the Slim Series programs, and I plan to stick with BeachBody.com programs for good. It has been life changing, and I feel more confident than ever before. Overall, I’ve lost 18 pounds and about 18 inches. I have 6-11 more pounds I want to lose, but I want to take it slow and do it right, and I know Beachbody will get me there! Update January 2006: I can't believe it's been so long since my last update-- 2005 was a crazy one! I finished my Ph.D., started a new job (my first "real" one), and moved to a new town. I'm still not back where I want to be, but I have worked out regularly for the past year thanks to BB!! I'm still trying to find the dedication I had initially, and I'm hoping '06 will be the year!!! Please stop by my message board to share your story or drop me an email. I'd love some inspiration, and I'd love to share my experiences with others! Update May '06--I have finally found my inspiration again in Turbo Jam!!! I've only been at it for 4 weeks, but I have already lost 6 pounds!!! I turn 30 this year, and I plan to be in the best shape of my life! Update January 07--It's so awesome to look back at almost three years of my Beachbody experience! I feel like Beachbody is that loyal friend whom you may not talk to for a couple of weeks, but who's always there when you're ready to pick up where you left off. I have maintained my weight in the last 3 years, and I can honestly say that Beachbody still gets me completely excited and motivated. Winters are always hard for me--I'm a south Louisiana girl-- but the Beachbody programs keep me moving and happy. After typical holiday laziness, I'm doing a great routine that mixes up all of the programs: Turbo Jam, Slim Series, and P90X. I love the variety and feel like each of those programs challenges me in different ways. Beachbody is my longest and most faithful commitment to anything ;)!! Update August 07: I worked out all summer doing mostly Turbo Jam and have maintained my stats well. Now I'm ready to really 'Bring it!' I've had the P90X program for two years now, but I never committed to 90 days, but now is the time. I'm two weeks in and feel great! Life has settled down, and I finally feel like I can commit to the 90 days. I can already see results, and I can't wait to see what I can accomplish at the end of the program. Update March 08: I completed a round of P90X last fall and got great results! I lost about 8 lbs. and gained lots of strength. I am now 3 months pregnant, so my training has slowed down quite a bit. I've been managing about 3-4 days a week doing P90, Turbo Jam, and yoga. I'm feeling the fatigue of the first trimester, so my workouts have not been as regular as I would like, but it's good to know I have all the tools available to me to stay physically fit during my pregnancy. I've already put P90X+ and Tony's new 10-minute workouts on my Christmas wish list because I'll be anxious to get back into shape after the baby arrives, that's for sure! | ||||||||
