One December early morning I was unable to sleep and watching T.V. While watching T.V., I came across an infomercial for P90X. I watched it in its entirety and started to think. “Could I do this?” “Is this for real?” “Are these real people” I guess I had fallen asleep, because by this time it was in the morning. So I immedialty went to searching the T.V. to see if I could find the infomercial again, of course I didn’t. I looked it up online and read the site from top to bottom. I called a friend out of town and asked had he heard about it, he had not. I talked about it at work, over and over again. Still I was not convinced. About a week later a new coworker came to work on Christmas day with the P90X book. I was elated. She informed me that she has other Beachbody products and that are awesome. She let me read her manual and I read it from cover to cover. What a way for a new coworker to break the ice and it worked. That night I ordered P90X online.

With ordering P90X, I gained access to online information and support. I read and read, looked at the pictures of transformations in ahh. Still wondering, could I do this? I came across one chat that has been the ultimate in support. “Calling all girls (ladies)”, without these ladies and there support I do not think I would have been able to have such success.

The first step I had to tackle was my eating habits. My day started at 0500 and I had to be to work at 0645. I would not eat breakfast, snack all day, eat lunch and continue to snack until 1900 when I got off. I would go home eat and than go to bed. The change, I totally adapted eating clean 5-6 meals a day and water, water and more water. With eating clean my gastrointestinal problems have ceased.

I am not a stranger to weight lose. I have tried numerous programs and pills only to gain the weight back two-fold. I would lose the weight, but look the same, just a smaller version. I still had the flab, cellulite and no muscle tone. I always had a headache and never could finish a workout, just did not have the energy. Now I have more energy than I could imagine and the headaches are gone.

I did and continue face many obstacles. The most significant is time management. For I am a RN in the Emergency Room working 4, 12 hrs shifts a week. At the end of the day I found that I was exhausted both mentally and physically. I made myself exercise after work. From doing this I found that the workouts helped me to de stress from the pain and hurt that I would see daily at work. What a good feeling! Kenpo being the best, because I could kick, punch and scream the frustration away. The next obstacle being able to look at myself, meaning the before pictures. As I wrote in the chat room, it brought tears to my eyes when I looked at them. I was horrified. I would not post them. But in time as the weight starting coming off and my body shape started to change, I became a little more comfortable. Now I have reached a point that I can say look at the before and now and most of all just wait to see what the later ones will look like!
Now that I have reached my goal, it is time to re-evaluate. I had set my goal at 155 lbs and I have obtained 154 lbs. But my goal was set years ago without the knowledge and tools that I have now. I have learned so much and continue to learn daily. My new goal will be without a weight limit. What I am trying to achieve is muscle tone, decrease in flab and cellulite. I other words I want to be ripped. If this comes with a weight gain or lose, I will take it. I have a new love and that love is me. I have more confidence than ever before.
