Now that things have balanced out a bit, I am able to reclaim time for me! Yes, it is challenging balancing everyone's schedule and still working out, but I feel like I need my workouts! They improve the quality of my life... I missed it so much while I was pregnant... our move and getting settled in a new city pretty much took all my time, but I miss not having that time to de-stress and get things out of my system. I want to be confident about my body again! Although I have not been keeping track like I used to... I am finding that it's like riding a bike... for the first time I feel like an eating/exercise plan really stuck! I remember all my portions, what I need to eat and when... I've developed new habits! I am excited to get going again because I know I did it before and can do it again! As my son Dylan always tells me (quoted from Ratatouille), "Let's do this thing!" I have always struggled with my weight, just trying to stay slim was hard always hard work for me. I was called "thick" and "strong as an ox" by those around me. Whatever plan I tried never worked for very long. It was always only a means to lose weight but not to live that way. I thought I would try it again. So I started at the end of July 2006 with Slim in 6 and did well that first couple of weeks losing 15 pounds... I moved on to the Slim Series and did not lose any in that round at all, but I was not really strict about my diet... I changed to Turbo Jam for round 3 and also joined the Turbo Addicts December challenge... with the tips, tracking my diet and consistent workout schedule, I dropped 5 more pounds and 5 more inches total! Each month I tweaked and changed my exercise plan a bit as well as my eating and kept on losing... I was doing a combination of Slim Series toning with my Turbo Jam and some running... It started as just another workout plan, but staying in touch on the boards helped me turn this into a lifestyle. I found a way to enjoy my foods and still lose weight. I got pregnant and moved to LA... so many things changed in my life in the past year, but one sure thing... because of my workouts and body shape before getting pregnant, I carried a smaller baby and gave birth much more easily (5 minutes of pushing!)... I have been breast feeding, walking, and going back to my eating plan (with some cheats!)... and have lost the weight much faster than with my first baby... I started working out again and was down to a size 6... Then I got sick, started my MBA, and a new job all at once. It has taken me almost a year to get things under control, but I really need to... I had thrown out all my really big clothes which has forced to get back on track or buy a new wardrobe (not in the budget)... good way to keep in check! I keep coming back to TJ because it is the only workout that always works for me... something about the music and the moves motivates me and makes me want to workout... I guess I will always be a Turbo Addict!
