I am a 39 year old mother of 2 great kids - ages 10 and 8. I have been happily married for 13 years. For 5 or 6 years, I had been stuck at the same weight. Until 2007, when the scales moved....UP! I gained 10 pounds last year. All those years of trying to lose 10 pounds and instead I gained.
In early December 2007, I decided that I really had to do something to get back in shape and feel better. So, I pulled out the Beachbody tapes and started WOWY again. I was committed to 3 days a week, but after just one week, I still struggled with the lack of desire to workout. So, I prayed for enthusiasm and determination. And my answer came through my children. That Saturday, after my kids had eaten several pieces of Christmas candy they brought home from school parties, they decided to pull out Turbo Jam - 20 Minute Workout to "work it off". He! He! I heard the music so I went in and finished the workout with them. They were so excited and said "Mom, this is so much fun. Can we get up in the mornings and exercise with you?" Right then I realized that the problem was my attitude -- I should look at the exercise as a gift. I am physically able to do it and that is a blessing in itself.
I am looking forward to this fitness journey. I feel better already.
