I am married, have two children, and am 48 years old. I have been blessed with and by the opportunity of being a stay at home mom. Almost three years ago my husband was diagnosed and treated for colon cancer. We were both running at the time and I had run my first 5K race when he got sick. I hadn't felt that good and been that fit since before children. I got out of the habit of going to the gym to run the treadmill and workout during his treatments so while he was undergoing chemo I gained weight. I am homeschooling my daughter again this year and as wonderful as it is I don't seem to have time for me let alone go to the gym. I have continued to pay my gym fees each month for the three years since my husband was diagnosed but haven't used it but a hand full of times. My goal is to be able to wear my size 4 skinny jeans again and teach my children the importance of exercise and proper eating habits so they won't have to worry so much about being fit and healthy as teenagers and adults.
