My name is Lucy. I am 36 years old Cuban-American. I have lived in Florida all my life (or at least since I can remember). I couldn’t have asked for a better family. My husband is amazing, he’s always helping me out and making sure I stay on my diet (even though he refuses to be on one himself). I have a beautiful daughter who motivates and encourages me by working out with me. When I don’t feel like pushing play she forces me to push play and visa-versa. My son (who is 20 yrs. old) is in the Marine Corp. I am very proud of my 2 kids. They are excellent!
When I was in my late 20’s I was very fit. I would run everyday and eat healthily, but my problem was that I was a HEAVY smoker. My husband and daughter convinced me to quit and I haven’t smoked one cigarette in 5 years (WOO!!!). When I quit smoking, because my body apparently wasn’t used to all the oxygen it was receiving, I would get dizzy just by talking, so you can imagine I couldn’t even work out for 10 minutes without the feeling that I was going to pass out. I soon started gaining a lot of weight and even though I have finally made it to my goal weight, I plan to keep pushing play. I love to workout. I feel great and I hope to help people feel as great as I do and achieve my kind of success.

As I said above, I quit smoking 5 years ago. At the end of 2006 I was up to 200 lbs. That was 70+ pounds I had gained in 4 years. I was not only depressed but I replaced my need for cigarettes with food and drink (without any form of physical activity other than TV), these being the two major reasons I had gained so much weight. When I looked at myself in the mirror one day I said “this is enough.” I had so many aches & pains from the excess weight, my arms would go numb constantly (I suppose from lack of circulation), my heels hurt from the amount of weight they were supporting, I was diagnosed as a pre-diabetic and had high blood pressure. I joined a diet clinic which helped me lose 40 pounds but as soon as I left the clinic and started eating a few things I wasn’t supposed to and 20 pounds crept back up on me quickly so once again I was 180 pounds. I didn’t want my life to be that horrible cycle of being on a diet, losing all the weight, then gaining it, then being on a diet again, etc. In June 2008, my brother had a heart attack at 39 years old (Thank God he is okay) but that was an eye opener for me. I was quickly going down the same path if I didn't start taking care of myself. That is when I first heard of Slim-in-6 and joined the Beachbody community and it helped me incredibly. At first my daughter and I were a little skeptical because I really didn't believe the infomercials but we did excellent! I didn’t want her to get bored & stop exercising because I believe it is important to establish an active lifestyle (which would include eating healthy) from a young age. So, I started doing the Slim Series I lost 16 pounds and a total of 13 inches since June. I was so proud of myself. I was wondering which videos to do next. I was stuck between Turbo Jam and P90X. My daughter loves to dance so I chose Turbo Jam. I LOVE IT! October 2008: I did Turbo Jam for 7 weeks when I started getting a pinched knee, I had to stop doing TJ :( when a co-worker told me that he did P90X and he would lend it to me to try. It helped so much with the knee pains.
January 2009: I started with ChaLEAN Extreme. Which, I believe has been my biggest changes. It is amazing! My body is changing daily and in the first month alone I lost 3% body fat!
Thank you BeachBody!
