Well i'll start as far back as high school, my graduating weight was upwards of 280 lbs. Wow, now i'm a shorter guy at 5'6" so that kind of weight on my frame is just way too much, but like most that size, i don't think i really saw it. Flash forward a few years and i'm lifting weights in my basement settled at around 260. I put on some muscle, dropped some weight but still completely out of shape. I slepped all day, ate bread and butter sandwiches when i got home from school or work, was just what the unfortunate average american is today, lazy, depressed and obese.

I was heading down a path to an early heart attack and eventually an early grave in an oversized casket. Heart problems run on both sides of my parents families and i was sure to not be the exception who didn't have heart problems. I'm actually pretty sure i'd have a heart attack in my 30's and thats not too far away.

I saw the P90x infomercial and it looked hard, intense and fun. The people looked real and i thought to myself I can do this, i lift weights, its time to see what i'm made of. That was when i was 25 so it would have been the first run of infomercials for p90X in 2007ish. I still remember the first workout, putting in chest and back, pushing play and not believing how absolutely hard it was, I actually ended up throwing up (sorry) and thats how i knew this was the real deal and that my life had just changed for the better.

Jeez, how do i look now? I've gone to family reunions and people have no idea who i am, i'm lean, happy and lets just say look pretty awesome in a tank top. At this point in my continuing transformation i'm putting together a hybrid routine that most are calling insane, i'm also looking into a triathalon in summer of 2010. Honestly though one of the truely best achievements so far was when i did my first unassisted pull-up. and I remember the day i finished ab ripper X all reps with the "kids". What a mountain. I still have some weight to drop but If anyone had asked me where i'd be 2 years ago i would have never thought that this would be me or my fitness level.
