A couple of years ago I made a life changing decision to move to a city and state that I didn't have any connection to other than employment. I was away from my family and friends. The transition was more difficult than I told myself it would be. I drowned myself in foods for comfort - only to leaving home to go to work or the store. This of course led to weight gain - 18 pounds in 6 months!!! I was miserable and knew I had to do something, my clothes were tight and I felt uncomfortable in them (not to mention I didn’t like the way I looked in the mirror). One day while wallowing in self pity I saw a Turbo Jam infomercial and a light bulb went on!! That's what I need – it looked fun, easy to follow and was structured. I placed the order immediately. After receiving the videos and beginning the workouts I initially wondered what I was thinking! This was harder than it looked. I told myself I HAD to do it. I NEEDED to do something about the weight that was creeping up. I continued to “PUSH PLAY” and over time came to look forward to my workouts. I enjoy the Turbo Jam so much that earlier this year I took the instructor’s course and now am Turbo Kick certified! Now I can share my enthusiasm with others and help them become healthier individuals and have FUN at the same time!

I began by setting short-term goals for myself - to lose a few pounds at a time. As I started to see results I became more and more driven to accomplish what I set out to do. I started feeling more energetic, I was sleeping better, friendlier, HAPPIER! I have lost 23 pounds (MORE than I gained!) and a total of 22 inches!!! I feel great - alive! Those who are around me have seen not only the physical change, but an overall outlook in life change. I have become more approachable because I am more confidant. I attribute this to taking better care of myself on the inside as well as the outside by eating healthier and making better food choices.


In January 2009 I began the ChaLEAN Extreme and to take myself to the next fitness level. I LOVE the changes in my body. My new goal is to continue to improve my fitness level and push towards having 6-pack abs (and they are peeking through) and a more defined upper back.
