The summer of 2007 was a milestone for me for many reasons. The first big
event of the summer was my 15th wedding anniversary. My wife has been my
best friend for 17 years now, and we hope to have many years ahead of us.
My next significant event of the summer was my 40th birthday. In my mind I
still feel like a 25 year old, but the mirror does not lie. Over the past number
of years, I have gained more weight than I had realized and found myself
looking at a 207 pound out of shape man. At my last two annual physical
exams, my doctor has also warned me about my blood pressure, which has
been also increasing over the years. My mother has high blood pressure, and
now mine was in the mid 140’s over mid 90’s with a resting heart rate of
around 80 bpm.

We also have 4 growing boys, from age 12 down to age 6. They participate in
many sports and outdoor activities, and I was finding it less and less
enjoyable to get involved with the rough and tumble of playing with them. I
coach many of their sports teams and realized that I was setting a bad
example for them and their friends by not being in shape as a youth coach. I
think it really hit home when my 10 year old started getting a rise out of me
by pushing on my gut and calling it squishy.

So as I was contemplating what it was going to be like to turn 40, I couldn't
help but wonder what the next 40 years would bring. Looking in the mirror
and standing on the scale certainly made me realize that I needed to make
some changes in order to help me enjoy the next 40 years. I had been going
downhill for a few years. My eating habits were poor; I was sedentary at work
and in my leisure time. I was eating and drinking too much and too often to
relieve stress. One Sunday morning as I was lying around like a slug, I saw
the P90X infomercial. I had turned it off many times before, thinking it was
just another one of those get fit schemes. This time I really paid attention and
went online to check it out. So I did. I ended up ordering Power 90.

In addition to losing 24 pounds and over 16 inches in 60 days, my blood
pressure went down in the mid 110’s over mid 60’s. My resting heart rate
decreased to around 60 bpm.

In the excitement of my new success, I ordered and received the P90X
Extreme Fitness program and starting early because I had such good results
using Power 90. I also joined the MDB club and became an Independent
Million Dollar Body Coach in order to start to help others achieve their goals
of renewed health and fitness.

People all around me have been making positive comments and I am feeling
the best I have in years. Honestly, this is the best I have ever felt, both inside
and out. This transformation is for real and for life. Thank you Beachbody,
Tony, my coach Mike and to all those who gave me support on the message
boards. I can’t wait to add to this transformation story in 90 days.

UPDATE: I have continued to use Beachbody fitness programs and
supplements to enhance my health, fitness, and athletic performance. In the
past year since regaining control of my life I have completed 2 Half
Marathons, a Triathlon Short Course event, and numerous 5K's. I have also
been learning to rock climb using sport, traditional, and bouldering methods.

In the new year of 2009 I have a busy schedule of races planned. So far on
the schedule are 3 Half Marathons, 3 Triathlons, and a couple of other
miscelleneous races. I am using P90X, P90X+, One on One's, Power 90, Slim
in 6, Turbo Jam, and Ten Minute Trainer workouts to supplement my
swimming, biking, and running training.
