All reports are strictly confidential. | nlauron I am now a half a century old! i've been married for 19 wonderful years to my very best friend, Elizabeth. I've been blessed with two of the greatest kids; Daniel, 9, and Zachary, 7. My personal long term goal is to be in the best possible shape that I can be for two reasons. One that as long as I am alive that I be healthy, feeling as good as humanly possible and avoid the hospital, not knowing I am now a half a century old! i've been married for 19 wonderful years to my very best friend, Elizabeth. I've been blessed with two of the greatest kids; Daniel, 9, and Zachary, 7. My personal long term goal is to be in the best possible shape that I can be for two reasons. One that as long as I am alive that I be healthy, feeling as good as humanly possible and avoid the hospital, not knowing what the current political leadership will do to our health care system, we all better be prepared. And secondly, that I avoid or prolong ever becoming a physical or health burden to my family and friends as I grow older. Not looking to live forever, that will be just a bonus. In april 08 i completed only 6 pull ups and 60 pushups during my first routine of p90x. when i finished 3 months later i did 60 pull ups in the hour and 120 pushups. today i'm doing my fourth run at p90x. A month before turning 50 i participated in a company wide fitness contest. i did 28 pull ups in one shot, 75 pushups in less than two minutes and benched pressed 185 pounds, not pretty, but something. i dedicated my effort to the memory of my dad. a great man and the poster child of physical fitness. i say this not to brag, but to let you know that p90x is the real deal and i encourage you to do what you can to transform yourself to become a better version of yourself. I am off my meds of over 20 years and haven't needed the services of a chiropractor since my first P90X. I can carry my sleeping kids to their beds when they fall asleep on the couch, I can give them piggy back rides and wrestle with them. I finished my first round of P90X on my 18th wedding anniversary June '08. I am in the best physical shape of my life and to think it only took 90 days. i waited till I turned 48 to start, it wasn't easy, but it was doable. I have one regret, that is that I didn't do this 10 years ago. I thought I was in good shape until i started the program. I thought i looked fine until i put my before photos next to my after. I thought i had good stamina until I went through the program. I lost 20 pounds, from 185 to 165. i dropped three pant sizes. but the results that mean the most to me are that my blood pressure and cholesterol medication have been cut in half by my doc. My body fat dropped from 30% to 18%, my bad cholesterol also dropped and my good cholesterol went up. My triglycerides were 224 with medication when i started and dropped to 101 in the three months of P90X. One year later update: off my meds completely! Today I've gain 10 pounds up to 175, my body fat went even further to 15% but is up to 20% after christmas (ouch). I've gone through two cycles of p90x and I started again, on Feb 1, only this time I have 7 couples (good friends) going through it with me. we are all going to keep each other accountable via facebook. It's all based on Beachbody and we are called QUEST FOR TRANSFORMATION OPEN:P90X, CHALEAN EXTREAM, Ten Minute Trainer. Between p90x I lift weights in a modified routine that is taken from the p90x workouts. I still do the p90x aerobic and core excersises every other day and yoga every wednesday. About six weeks ago, my coach, Renee, introduced me to Chalean Extreme. Wow what a workout. The cardio routines have been exactly what I needed, a wonderful change and a challenge to boot. I max out on all the cardio routines she offers and have rotated all four of them with my P90X workouts. my diet is still pretty much as it was during my initial workouts. but i eat more to fuel the workouts. i still don't eat desserts and have no desire to start up. i eat out with my wife on special occasions and on business trips. but i eat smarter. like many of you, i stumbled during christmas and thanksgiving. for two months my diet wasn't a 5 but a 3. That was just a speed bump and I'm back on it. I am nobody special and I succeeded in my initial goal of getting healthier and stronger, i received a bonus with the weight loss, body fat loss and pant size loss. I received an education listening, paying attention and executing the P90X workouts. I was stunned and impressed with the program because it was true to it's promise as long as I held up my end of the bargain. That is that if I stick with it and kept up with the diet that I would see benefits. I am sure there are some exceptions out there, but I'm in the normal spectrum of human physiology and if you are, this program and others like it that Beachbody offer will make a positive difference in your life. The workout program in and of itself I believe will work in getting you toned and stronger, but this program was designed to go hand in hand with a diet and unless you commit to both I don't believe you will be as successful as you can without the diet. Life style change is the only way that I have succeeded in this program and I don't think you can go into this without either expecting to make the change or become changed as you go through it. As you begin to see the good physical changes in your life through the daily workouts and diet, you will become more encouraged and the idea of a life style change becomes easier each day. It worked for me and I would like very much for you to succeed in your personal goals.
