I've always had problems The Ups and Downs of Dan Hughes Hows it going? My name is Dan Hughes and I live in Texas, been happily married for five years and have 5 wonderful children. My family is my driving force for my health, fitness and success in life. I've been in and out of the fitness world since I was 16 years old. I've done weight lifting, martial arts, jogging and some rock climbing. I've always had problems gaining weight until about 3 yrs ago.I just got sick of being called a bean pole or skinny boy,so I decided to change that. I customized a workout plan and nutrition program that would allow me to break the skinny boy cycle. From the age 18 to 32 I couldnt get myself over 150 lbs. When I started my program I was 6'1 @ 150 lbs within 10 weeks I jumped up to 180 lbs with only 17% bodyfat! Man was I pumped,my friends and family thought I was on steroids or something! Since then I was sold into the world of fitness. Then my job status started interfering with my health and fitness level. First the company I worked at for 11 yrs shut down, then I got a job working nights 12-13 hrs a day 5-6 days a week. Sometimes I got a lunch sometimes I didnt and there I was, back down the ladder to 150 Lbs.All that hard work and discipline down the drain. Finaly I landed a day job in sales, pulled myself up and started working out regularly again. This time it only took me 6 weeks to jump up to 180 Lbs.Then I started to fall short of my workouts again, but this time I didnt loose my weight, I dropped muscle and gained fat(18% body fat to 28% bodyfat). So back up the ladder I went to my workout program and dusted off my gym the ol garage. In 10 weeks I once again amazed my family and friends,I shot up to 198 Lbs with only 18% bodyfat(but no six pack showing yet :( ). Then guess what happened? Thats right back down the ladder again. Once again work related, went through a change of jobs and with my new job started working late hours only having one day off a week. Dropped back down again to 180 lbs, but this time I caught the cycle early. Its been 3 months since my last serious workout and I refuse to allow anything to stand in the way of my health and fitness levels. My family depends on me to be in the best health possible. So I through that old ladder away and started working on my next workout program! I heard about the P90x program from a fellow co-worker. Did some research on it watched a few transformation vids and was I amazed! I have been searching for this all along. So I'm in ,fixing to order it and plug it in! I've done years of research in nutrition and fitness and my long time goal is to become a succesful Personal Trainer. From what I've learned over the years and have seen with the P90x Program I know this is going to be life changeing for me. Only one thing to do next and that is to press play and bring it on!! See ya in 90 days!! -Dan Hughes | ||||||||
