Hamilton, OH Hi, my name is Ron and I've finally decided to tell my story (one that is actually still in progress). I'm 38 years old and a father of 6 children. My wife, Tammy, and I have 3 children at home and we homeschool 2 of them (the youngest is still in the terrible-two's stage, even though he's 4 now). If you've tried this yourself, you know that the first negative side-effect is that it drains your energy, puts a lot of stress in your life, and ultimately leads to a poor quality of health. That's exactly what happened to me.
Fortunately, I'm an extremely healthy person, so even though my health has deteriorated over the past 10+ years, it hasn't taken as big of a toll as it does on most people. However, the major impact that I experienced was progressive weight-gain.
I started out slightly over-weight and progressed to a-whole-lot over weight (it's gotten to the point that my scale is in therapy). Jokes aside, I was creating a situation that put me at serious risk for diabetes and heart disease. Not to mention that both of those health risks are common in my family.
Recently, I decided that if I continued down the path that I was on, I might not be around to see my family grow and be there for them later in life. So, I made a commitment to get healthy and reverse the damage I was doing to my body.
