Being in the entertainment business your talent is important, but so is your physical appearance. I started singing in a pop group in my late teens to my mid-20s. It was so easy back then, I didn't even have to think about it. Choreography rehearsals, performances and photo shoots kept me in top shape. It was also nice having a gym sponsorship.

After we went our separate ways, I continued performing regularly on my own and in other bands, but wasn't in the public eye as much as I used to. I ate whatever I want and worked out less. I blamed getting older and a slower metabolism, when it was just me being lazy.

When I couldn't fit a favorite outfit or a pair of jeans I'd go on a short-term diet or exercise program. I wouldn't call myself a fad dieter, but I've tried several regimens such as the 7-day Detox diet, the South Beach diet and Sommersizing.

I saw an infomercial on Power 90 about 5 years ago and bought it. I wanted to look good for a concert.
