Ive worked all my life and havent had the time or even the desire to much of anything athletic. Im was the poster boy for Couch Potatoes of the world. I had to make a change, and I had to make it now. As Im writing this im waiting for my package to arrive. I have to do something cause im getting to the point in my life where health issues are starting to creep up on me. Believe it or not, i am a very easily motivated and goal orented person if I have the right mentor and drive behind me. I dont know if I will succeed with my new venture here, but Im going to do what ever it takes to make it through the first 90 days and then reevaluate my self.

Weighing in at over 230 pounds wasn’t anything that I hadn’t done before. Several years ago, at the beginning of my second marriage I weighed in at 235. Of course then I was around 27-28 years old, not 42 like I am now. I had to keep buying bigger pants and eventually XXL t-shirts to hide my enormous pot belly that my genetics had passed down to me. I had started having head aches and some chest pains that I just dismissed to smoking. I was up to 2 ½ packs a day, sometimes 3 on a good day. The longer the head aches lasted the more severe they became it seemed. One day my Mom suggested I should see the Dr. So I did. My blood pressure was 210/190. I was a walking stroke and hadn’t a clue. The Dr put me on BP meds and told me to stop smoking, but if I’m taking the meds and they work, I can just keep smoking I thought. About a week later I had an episode with my chest, could have been anxiety, I don’t know, just possible. It was unlike any pain I had had, the left side of my face into my teeth was in a severe pain, my shoulder down into my arm stopping at my elbow was killing me, I was almost ready to cry. Finally it passed and I was scared to death. This was while I was at work, 2nd shift. I left work after my shift was up and went home, walked though the door about 12:30 am. From the porch light shining through the storm door, I could see the reflection if the pictures hanging on the wall. My kids. I walked over to them and realized my eyes were full of tears at the thought of what I had been doing to my self. That’s was it. I walked over to the wall and looking at the pictures of my 2 oldest kids I kissed my fingers and placed them on the pictures there on the wall. They weren’t living at home anymore and that was as close as I could get. I went to my other 3 kid’s rooms one at a time, kissed their foreheads and told them I was sorry. I walked into the living room again to take off my duty belt, and for some reason I turned on the TV. There was some crazy guy talking about something called P90X. I watched a little and the more I watched the more inspired I became over the realness of the people that were there on the TV talking to what appeared to be.. Me. I was convinced. I went to bed an ordered the DVD’s the next morning. That’s also happens to be the day I stopped smoking. On March 2nd, 2008 I stopped smoking, started walking 2-3 miles a day. I started watching for the UPS truck as soon as I ordered the program. I knew it would be there for at least 7 more days, but I was excited. Finally its here! I’ve lost 10 -12 inches in some places, gained 8 -10 in others, and lost 22 pounds. I’ve went from 28.2% bf to 22.8% bf. I’ve started round 2 and I’m more excited now than I was then. Why? I’m a coach now, and I can help others, including you. People see me now and ask me what I’m doing? “Have you lost weight?” “You look different” things like that. I love it; it makes me feel really good to know that I’m taking care of myself and in doing so I’m extending my life. The best thing is my daughter tells her friends that her Dad is kind of hot now… lol. My hopes are this transformation story will inspire you to take the next step. If you do, my self and others will be here to walk with you, all the way through. Peace & Love
