memphis, TN I'm a 48 year old mother of 3 grown children and 4 grand children. I'm married to my wonderful husband, Roy of 18 years. I truly enjoy working out. In Jan. of 2006 I weighted 209 pounds and was wearing a size 18 comfortable and a 16 tight. I was determined to lose weight and get healthy. I committed to exercising everyday and eating healthier. I'm 5'9" and weigh 163 pounds and wear a size 6-8. My overall goal is to be healthy, toned and weigh between 140-150 pounds with less than 20% body fat.

In Dec. of 2005 I had my annual physical exam and my doctor told me that my cholestrol was a little high. Well, I've always considered myself atheletic. I played basketball in high school and would exercise every so often. But I didn't know how much foods to eat nor how much exercise I needed to do to reach my goal. So as a lot of us do, I'll workout for about 4 weeks, maybe lose 5-10 pounds, but I wasn't eating right. I'll cut back on eating thinking that I was doing the right thing. So that always caused me to fall under the yo-yo pattern. In Jan. of 2006 after receiving the doctor's results I knew it was time to become serious about my health. I couldn't see myself joining a gym. So I started creating a workout room in my home. I bought a used treadmill, elliptical, stability bike, resistance flex machine, stability ball, dumbbells, and barbells, and painted my workout room red. I use DVD's from various programs. I saw an infomercial about P90X in Nov. of 2007 and couldn't take my eyes off it. I knew then that this was what I wanted to do. I told my daughter and she purchased the program for me as a pre-christmas gift. I received it on Nov. 27, 2007 and I started on Nov. 29, 2007. I log into WOWY every day that I workout with anticipation of being the daily winner. Once I found the community board, I was hooked. I've found so much encouragement and help from the boards. I've learn how to eat clean and I love it. I never thought that I'll be as strong as I am now, and always heard that I'll never get rid of my stomach. Well I'm here to tell you that the old stomach is gone. I'm not as slim as I want to be, but I know as I continue to work out with the beach body programs, I'll reach my goals.
