Overall Goal: I want fit lifestyle that will give me lasting endurance and strength. I desire to strengthen my entire body so that I will have less strain on my back, knees and ankles for long distance running. I wish to finish the Boston Marathon *someday*, so increasing my ability to run long distance is in the plan. I also hope to soon be trained and certified as a group fitness instructor--teach what I love--can't ask for anything more! Where I struggle: I am still struggling with the appropriate meal plan. Some days I think I have a good handle on what foods are good for me as well as how much. Other days, that goes right out the window. I want to train myself to eat slowly. In my career, there are just some days when I only get 10 minutes to grab lunch. Other days, I am so hungry after my workouts, I'll eat a huge dinner. Where I started: I spent the first week as a Team Beachbody member learning some of the Turbo Jam workouts. I am going to combine that with some of the Kathy Smith workouts I had done (not very often, though) prior to joining and running. I hope that over time I will build up my endurance to run long distances with my dog--so we both get some exercise. Where I'm going: I have made a commitment to start the Turbo slim 10-day kick start from May 13-23 (taking a rest day on 5/22). Wish me luck!!! 5/16/08 Update: I'm almost half way through the kick start! Turbo Sculpt kicked my butt last night, BUT I feel amazing. I can already feel a differece in my energy, my appetite and my waistline! I'll post the measurements and weigh-in on Saturday 5/24. I've also ordered some of the whey protein powder to supplement in some of my lower protein meals and snacks. 5/23/08: I finished the TJ Kick Start and lost 6lbs. in 10 days! I feel stronger, more energized and ready to drop those 9 more pounds! 6/9/08: Even though my weight hasn't changed, I feel muscle building and I *know* I'm getting stronger. I'm continuing through the TJ rotation of cardio and strength training. I did lose another inch off my hips! Yeah! 7/5/08: Today is my 30th birthday. I feel amazing: strong, confident...I can't remember the last time I got so many compliments: "Wow, Erin, you look GREAT! What have you been doing!?!?" Turbo Jam, of course! It's been fun mixing all of the different workouts to really keep things fresh and my body from any kind of plateau. I do still have a little "pooch" of fat around my lower abdomen, so I ordered the slimming formula supplement to add to my workouts and diet. I will admit, this week has been tough nutrition-wise and with work and family in town, I've missed a few workout times with buddies--but I still got a workout in! I plan to do measurements and weigh-in soon! Keep rockin'!!! February 2009 I've fallen off my regular routine a bit, but still pushing! Adding more strength training (Turbo Sculpt, Lower Body Sculpt, 3T) has certainly help conquer the plateau. Keep pushing play with me!!!! | ||||||||
