I have been overweight all of my life. Growing up on my mom's southern home cookin', didn't leave much room for health and nutrition. When I went to college I started working out, but didn't do well on the nutrition end with late night pizza and beer. When I graduated I was overweight and miserable. Growing up on my mom's southern home cookin', didn't leave much room for health and nutrition. When I went to college I started working out, but didn't do well on the nutrition end with late night pizza and beer. When I graduated I was overweight and miserable. I was in a bad relationship with my fiance' and was my biggest tipping the scale at 210lbs with no self-esteem.
I didn't realize how big I had gotten until one day I was looking at some graduation pictures and a trip I had taken and it hit me like a ton of bricks. How could I let myself go this much? Did I really look like this?
I ended my relationship with my then fiance' and began to try to focus on myself. Little did I know that two weeks later I would meet my future husband (we have been married now for four years.)
When I met Ricky, he didn't judge me for my size, but for my heart. I knew he cared about me regardless, but he wanted me to be happy and loose weight if I wanted to. I started to cut back on food and portions and tried to excercise some. It was difficult at first, but I stuck with it. I would do well for a while, hit a plateau, get discouraged and gain the weight back. I was tired of this cycle and it wasn't healthy either. I joined weight watchers and was able to lose 25lbs fairly easily counting points and excercising. I joined a gym and worked out regularly 4 times a week. I continued to loose weight, slowly but surely. I decided to do a "boot camp" class at the gym and it really kicked my butt, and I loved it. The trainer that taught that class was great, but then she moved. I stuck with what she taught me though and became my own motivation. Shortly after was when I ran across the Slim in 6 series and then started into Turbo Jam. WOW! Can we say results! I got all the way down to 160lbs. I know that I am building so much muscle now, I can see and feel them so the scale has creeped up a bit, but I am still pushing play. I want to become certified as a Turbo instructor and maybe one day be in one of Chalene's videos. HA!!!! Thank you so much Chalene for helping me get my "SELF" back. I feel like I am on top of the world when I am working out and have my diet in check. YIPPPPEEEEE!!! One day if I decide to have kids i want them to have a HOT! mama!

It all started with an infomercial I saw on slim in 6 from a hotel room. I ordered it and started the program as soon as it arrived. I stuck with the program faithfully and on week 7 continued with the rest of the slim series. I really started to see a change in my body, while gaining strength and energy. Then it happened. I had always been interested in Turbo Jam so I ordered it. I LOVE it and I am a totally addicted. I ordered the other cardio mixes and Turbo ball and gloves. I love Chalene's energy and how you feel like you have known her all your life. I hope to become a certified Turbo Jam instructor so I can help other people like Chalene has helped me. Maybe one day I can be in one of her videos!!!!!!! 7/16/07 Update.
