My name is Josh, I'm a 24 year old Independent Diamond Beachbody Coach and a P90X and P90X+ graduate, and here is just a little bit about me! I graduated college in December of 2007 and became a Financial Representative the following February. Throughout my entire life, I have always had a desire to help people, and that is why I chose to be a Financial Rep, someone who can help others become financially stable. However, I decided that this was not the career path that suited me best. Then, after I completed Round 1 of P90X, I discovered the Beachbody Coaching Opportunity, and decided to switch careers to do something I thoroughly loved! Now, I am an Indpendent Beachbody Coach helping others achieve extreme fitness! Baseball has been the story of my life! I started playing ball when I was 5 years old, and finished my college career in May of 2007. I have a great passion for the game, and have put in countless hours of practice and games over the years. I was able to receive numerous honors during my 4-year college baseball career, and it is all because of my constant hard work and dedication to improving my game, both mentally and physically. Hard work is something my parents have been preaching to my sister and I since we were kids. “If you want to succeed in life, you have to work harder than everybody else” was what was drilled into our heads. You will not find a better life lesson than that. I have been able to take this and apply it to everything I do in life: my job, my studies, my workouts, and I am proud to say that I have been successful thus far. Being in good physical shape has always been an important part of my life. During my college career, I was in the weight room 6 days a week doing both cardio and resistance training. However, after baseball ended, I wasn't able to work out as much as I wanted and really fell out of shape. I quickly became unhappy with myself, and knew that because I was no longer doing baseball workouts, I needed something to put me back into shape and help me stay there. One evening, while watching TV, I saw the infomercial on P90X. It grabbed my attention quickly, and I immediately went online to do some research. After seeing the some before and after photos, I knew I was going to change my life. Now, almost 450 days later, a P90X and P90X+ graduate, I am in the best shape of my life, and sharing my success with everyone by being an Independent Beachbody Coach. My goal is to help people reach the point where they can look into the mirror and finally say to themselves, “Wow, I love who I am and how I look!” If you find that you are in need of motivation and support, come join me and the people I coach in our journey to extreme fitness! I will be here to answer any questions you might have, help you eat healthy when you want to give in to temptations, and make you realize that success comes from hard work and dedication! After my college baseball career ended, I had let myself go. I became about 20 pounds overweight and completely out of shape. I was unhappy and disappointed with myself. It then started affecting everything else in my life: my relationships with family and friends, and eventually my job. In order for me to be successful in my job, which requires constant interaction with others, I first had to be confident with myself, and I wasn’t. One day, I decided that I had enough. Disgusted, I looked in the mirror and said, “You are going to change your life!” I then began asking around and looking for a program that could take me to a fitness level that I had never before achieved. Then one night while watching TV, I saw the infomercial on P90X. It caught my attention because I saw the sweat dripping down Tony’s face onto his shirt. I know that if there is sweat, hard work is involved, and I know that hard work always leads to success! After some online research, I knew the program was for me, and ordered the DVD’s and pull-up bar. I then vowed to follow the program strictly no matter how difficult it got! After a few days of anticipation, the P90X box arrived. I was surprised to find a nutrition guide inside along with the DVD's. I sat down and went over the nutrition guide thoroughly and realized that I had to completely change my diet in order to get maximum results. I was used to not caring about what I ate, and knew that I had to seriously cut back on all the carbohydrates and junk food I took in. I was so used to eating pizza, white breads, ice cream, cookies, cake, and any other unhealthy food that you can think of. I went to the store and bought healthy food for a change. I started P90X the day I received it. Chest & Back was the first workout, and boy was it a memorable one. I got to the halfway point and thought to myself, “How in the world am I going to do another push-up?” I managed to push through the 2nd set even though my arms felt like jello. Then came Ab Ripper X, and wow was that a tough one! I had never before gotten that kind of an abs workout. After that was over, I just felt like lying on the ground and not moving. The next day I remember being the most sore I had ever been in my life. It was then that I realized I was going to take my fitness to the extreme! I soon found out that following the diet was the most difficult part of the program! I would find myself craving the unhealthy foods that I was once so accustomed to eating. Also, whenever I would go out to eat, I found it very hard to order healthy food and stay within my calorie limit. Temptations were everywhere I turned. There would be days that co-workers would bring in doughnuts and friends would ask me to grab drinks, but I was able to refuse. I knew that in order to reach my goal, I had to strictly follow the program. I then turned to the Beachbody community for help and support. When I created my own Team Beachbody account, I saw that a coach was assigned to me, Barbie33. Let me tell you, Barbie has been the best inspiration and support giver I could have ever asked for! I remember emailing her for the first time, letting her know who I was and that I had just begun the program. She emailed me back right away, and welcomed me to the P90X family. From then on, she was there to answer any questions I had, as well as provide motivation and inspiration. There is no way I could have achieved this kind of success without her. I then began posting my workouts and pictures on her Slim Spot thread, and noticed how everyone seemed to be very interested with my story and transformation. As I kept posting updated pictures, more and more people couldn’t believe my transformation! People then began telling me how much of an inspiration I have been to them because of my results, and let me tell you, it made me feel great! I now feed my workouts on how I am helping others! Every time I want to eat a piece of cheesecake or skip a workout, I think about everyone who is just waiting to see my updated pictures, and how I can be of some motivation to them. I tell them that if they want to receive results like me, they must put in extreme hard work and dedication. I am now about to hit the 190 day mark and in the best shape of my life. I am confident and finally happy with myself! | ||||||||
