Of course, the "stress diet" I underwent during a divorce helped me lose lots of weight but it wasn't very healthy at all. I was a bag of bones. Of course, the "stress diet" I underwent during a divorce helped me lose lots of weight but it wasn't very healthy at all. I was a bag of bones. A second marriage helped to put more unhealthy weight back on [no shape or definition, however] and another "stress diet" inflicted on me went the opposite way; I put on even more weight by eating garbage to make myself feel better but it only made me feel worse. Meanwhile, I'm still a member of the Army Reserve and I should be in shape, right? I was just at or barely under my Army weight limit of 214 but flabbing all over the place and had no muscle or strength at all. I could pass my bi-annual physical fitness tests but they nearly killed me. I started running 2 or more miles every day and working out "military style" and got in really great shape, plus it was *great* therapy to get out, be alone for a while in the early morning and just "go". I was down to 185 pounds without all the flab [and looking pretty good!] but 3 major knee injuries within a year's time and a knee surgery determined I have degenerative cartilage and cushioning in both knees and my doctor told me no impact on my knees, no running and if I don't follow his orders I'll be having double knee replacement surgery before I'm 50. Well! I'm still a reservist and need to be in shape not just for my service but also for my own self-image and self-respect. I searched and searched to find a workout program which combined the best of yoga, Pilates, aerobics, muscle building/toning and safe weight loss and found it in BeachBody programs and products. I'm now working out with Tony and P90X and I just *LOVE* this program! I look forward to it each and day. Losing 35 pounds, all those inches and gaining all sorts of strength, muscle and definition is proof enough for me!! If you don't believe a word of what I'm saying then just look at my pictures; those were taken in a 9 month period in 2007. Need I say more? All of this is more for me than anything else. I don't want to be the overweight and flabby grandpa or dad. I want to feel good about myself and project that image through my physical appearance. Since everything else in my life is finally falling in to place, then why not include my fitness? Besides losing the weight and getting fit, my orthopedic doctor is happy, my knees will last much longer and my cholesterol is *finally* under control - without drugs! I'm winning all the way around and YOU CAN TOO! If this old man with 20% disability in both knees can feel and look this good, then what are YOU waiting for? There is NO magic pill, depsite what you may see or hear. There's NO special drink, NO "wear it while you work" piece of junk or any other product that will get you to the health level at which you want to be. Don't waste your time or money on fads or gimmicks. It takes YOU to decide, commit and succeed. Work your body with the best workout programs, feed it right with healthy foods, treat it right with quality supplements and guess what? YOU WILL FIND WHAT YOU ARE AFTER!! I did it - and so can you. Tony Horton and his variety of workouts are everything you've seen or heard them to be. After completing Power 90 I could feel and *see* the changes in and on my body and it was good! Power90 level 1-2 was good; it helped me to get used to the new workout at a level easy on my body yet working it at the same time. Level 3-4 was *intense* although I didn't really notice until after I finished working out. I didn't follow the diet as specified in the book as I followed a very low fat and restricted calorie diet prescribed by my doctor for extremely high cholesterol. I did [and do!], however, follow the eating schedule and watch what I eat carefully. More fruits and vegetables and very lean meats keeps me going without hunger and I can constantly feel the changes taking place and I like it! What's more, I really do *SEE* the differences in my body and the transformation *DID* take place! The changes between my before and after pictures are real and striking. I feel my strength building and can see the changes going on. I'm energized without being sore and tired after my workouts and my days go better. I sleep better and find myself less stressed out, no matter what happens at work or at home. I use the WOWY member section regularly now although I didn't when I first started. I thought it was kind of corny but when I see my progress I want to share with others in their BeachBody programs and it's actually kind of fun to find Success Buddies to help along and motivate because that's what they are doing for me. Motivation is important and the WOWY section helps give you that. Decide - Commit - Succeed. BeachBody, Tony Horton and the WOWY section gives you the tools you need to do just that.
