My name is Stacy, and I’m a 28-year-old media communications professional (copywriting, editing, photography and design) living on the Gulf Coast. After leading an active lifestyle for many years, I’ve fallen off the wagon and am ready to jump back on!
I’ve always had a high metabolism and could never gain weight even when I tried! Throughout college, I avoided the “freshman 15” and was still weighing in the low 100s. I started working out more, got to my ideal weight of 110-115 and maintained that for a few years, although the consistency was never there. Things began to change in 2005 when a series of personal tragedies, including Hurricane Katrina and my best friend’s death, triggered panic attacks several times a week. After being put on an anti-anxiety medication, the panic attacks were gone, but so was the high metabolism. So since early 2006, I’ve gained about 25 pounds and just feel sluggish all the time. I was later diagnosed with SVT, which can be aggravated by stress and may have been misdiagnosed as “panic attacks.” My SVT is now controlled with a beta blocker, and I’m ready to go off the anti-anxiety meds and get my health back on track permanently.
Big thanks to my coach, Loren, for being my support system and giving me the kick in the butt that I needed to take charge of my life and get back into the shape I once was!
I’m looking to slim down, build muscle, eat right and live a healthier, happier lifestyle – and actually stick with it this time!! It can happen…and it will!
