I work as an investor and sit behind a computer all day.I miss working outside we have the best climate year round (k it does get a little hot and sticky in the summer but I would take that over 3 months of cold wet winter snow any day) I really enjoy playing outside with everything that South Florida has to offer. My favorite hobbies would be anything that has to do with the beach and water (fishing, bar-b-ques, sunsets, crabbing, kayaking , snorkeling, boating ,bikinis, sailing, lobster season!!! ect.) , We have plenty to do here and I have tried to and taken almost everything to its limit. Ok this is my transformation story and what got me started. I am 48 years young and was weighing around 199 lbs .I woke up one morning and had promised to go to help a friend exhibit her Doberman pincher at a dog show (I love and have worked with dogs over 30 years). It had been over 10 year’s since I had exhibited any dogs and tried on a suit and tie. As you can imagine nothing fit. I managed to squeeze into a pair of pants (and I’m talking breathing out suck in the gut and prey the clasp and buttons would not pop), my jacket was so tight it made a V at the bottom and I looked like the Goodyear tire guy with all the ripples everywhere ( with a better tan ). My movement was restricted so much it was like wearing a back brace. I had to make an extra hole in my belt so it would fit ,and my shirt was so tight around my neck that my face turned red and it felt as if my eyes were bugging out of my head ( looked like one of those goldfish at the pet store). That was the easy part! , now I had to run around with a dog in a suit, bend over ,run around again, outside in sunny South Florida (90 degrees and 80% Humidity) while trying to look all cool, calm and collected, and not sweat (yeah right!!). After about a minute I was soaking wet from sweating and it looked like I had fallen into a pool. I was so overweight and out of shape that most of the friends I had known for years did not even recognize me they just walked right by as if I was not even there. Well the good news was I survived with out any public embarrassing incidents (that was until I was leaving and getting into the car lifted one leg and my pants split). It was a miserable 1 ½ hour ride home and all I could think about was how uncomfortable I felt and was thanking my lucky stars that I had made it back to the car. That day I decided enough was enough .I was not getting any thinner and healthier or younger. Enough with the excuses no more procrastinating .It was time to do something about it. Like most of us who watch any late night TV, there it was P90x over and over and over teasing, tempting, daring, bring it, in my face attitude, it even ticked me off a little. I said to myself that’s where I would like to be in 90 day’s how hard could it be. The very next day I went online a read and researched everything I could find about P90X (wanted to be sure this was for real and for me). I ordered the program with the pull-up bar, a yoga mat ,yoga block’s, heart rate monitor, excel spreadsheet to track my workouts and nutrition, joined Team Beachbody,. I had everything needed to complete P90X. and was waiting for the box’s to come in the mail. That was the easy part!. This was not an easy program. I was not sure about my goals or even if I would be able to finish what I started .When they say Bring It! you better understand that it means, game face, give you’re all put your heart into it bring it!!. I worked so hard everyday that I found muscles I never knew were there. It took a few weeks but the soreness did finally go away and I was seeing results .The intensity was always there and I really started getting into challenging myself to do better and better. If you think you are going to just breeze thru and not have to work, this program is not for you. If you think you have what it takes you will be amazed on how far you can go in such a short time. I am definitely in the best shape of my life .I have managed to overcome asthma ,3 knee surgeries ,and quite smoking. All my friends and family are asking me what I have been doing to get into such great shape. The best compliment came from my 12 year old goddaughter , (you know kids they do not beat around the bush they tell it like it is) she said to me don’t take this the wrong way but you were really fat and now your skinny (made me laugh and cry at the same time). My whole outlook on being and staying fit has changed for the better . This program is not about just working out and getting into shape. . It's about changing your lifestyle. Now that I have completed the P90X program. I ride my bike around 180 miles (30 year old schwinn beach cruiser) , that’s around 12 hour a week. I do P90X, P90X Plus six day’s a week. I have lost over 35 lbs. and 20% body fat . I have learned how to eat healthy everyday. My energy level has gone thru the roof ( feel at least 20 years younger ). As far as achieving my original goals I crushed everyone of them. I have learned so much about exercising correctly, proper nutrition, and commitment. It feels so good to accomplish something that was so important to me. When I look back at my pictures it’s hard to believe that it was the same person such a short time ago. There is no going back for me. From now on I will always be challenging myself to do better. Now here is my question to you , do you have what it takes to challenge yourself to be better.!!
