I first joined Beachbody in January 2003, when my husband and I started Power90. I completed that and moved on to Power Half Hour, then Slim in 6 and Slim Series, all with great success. I went from More...
I first joined Beachbody in January 2003, when my husband and I started Power90. I completed that and moved on to Power Half Hour, then Slim in 6 and Slim Series, all with great success. I went from my heaviest weight ever, about 160 pounds (I’m only 5ft tall!) down to 115. From a tight size 14/16 to a 4. We were featured on the Power90 commercial in 2004/2005 (If you saw it, I was the “dorky chick from Texas” haha!)

After coasting along through 2005-2007, I found myself on a runaway train barreling right back toward my “before”. Getting healthy and getting to one’s goal weight is NOT easy. Neither is maintaining, as I have discovered. Thankfully, due to the valuable knowledge I gained from being a member of the Beachbody community over the past 5 years, I have been able to stop the backward slide before gaining back everything I had lost.

But one of the most important things I have learned in my time here is: It is not the numbers that are important. It is how I FEEL. I want to feel energized and upbeat. I want to feel strong and capable and even athletic. And yes, just like any human being on the planet, I want what I see in the mirror to reflect who I FEEL I am on the inside. I know if I am consistent and follow what I know works for me, my outside will soon match my inside again!

January 2009: I have just finished the Burn Phase of Chalean EXTREME with good results. I lost 5 pounds, 7.5 inches overall and 4% body fat! Everything is moving in the right direction. I have gained SO MUCH STRENGTH in the past 4 weeks, it still amazes me. I am really looking forward to the PUSH phase and even bigger changes in my strength and stamina! This is all leading me toward my goal of leading Turbo classes and coaching people in my community one-on-one in 2009!

MARCH 2009: I leave tomorrow morning to head for sunny southern California and the Team Beachbody Coach SUMMIT. I am excited to rev up my engines and get some great ideas and motivation to reach out and help people here and locally in my community! I'm still working hard out here!

UPDATE APRIL 28 2009 -------------------
This past weekend I participated in Relay for Life, which benefits the American Cancer Society. I did this in honor of my friend Lori, who passed away in November 2008 after a 4 year battle with thyroid cancer. Watching Lori fight and being with her during those times really drove home the knowledge that we MUST take an active role in our own health. WE MUST TAKE CHARGE OF OUR BODIES. There is no other way!! Together with my teammates, we relayed from 6pm to 6am - all night long - and we made it! It was so hard, but it was a picnic compared to the war Lori fought with cancer.
