Texarkana, TX My Biography: Biographies can lead to pre-judgmental thinking which can cast the wrong opinion at times. I thought about starting out with “I am”, but I feel that just does not convey who I truly “am.” However, here is my attempt to let you know who TexasBret really is! My life is centered on my family. I thought about starting out with “I am”, but I feel that just does not convey who I truly “am.” However, here is my attempt to let you know who TexasBret really is! My life is centered on my family. I have a Godly, loving, beautiful wife of 15 years and two boys (1994; and 1996). I have been in practice here in Texarkana, TX for going on 13 years as a Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine physician. I have been the Scoutmaster for my boys’ troop the last 18 months. Many hobbies and skills fill my closet. I love the outdoors, especially backpacking. I am an instrument rated pilot, a PADI open water diver, a Scoutmaster for BSA, enjoyed photography (before the digital age), like all sorts of music (not real hip on rap or heavy metal though), and feel that God is NUMBER ONE above all things. I am a sinner, and gluttony has been one of the hard ones. I also am a 32 degree Ancient, Free, and Accepted Mason. I do think it is important for our nation to get back to healthy living. I want to set the example, and agree with BB philosophy on why they developed Million Dollar body.

My transformation story: Born an identical twin, I have the opportunity to see things in myself, through looking at my brother. I grew up being somewhat active, but never on a regimen of healthy living. During my undergraduate years, I worked at UPS loading semi truck trailers and was probably the most fit I have ever been. It was a part-time job, but 4 hours of loading boxes up to 60 pounds with a minimum rate of 600 boxes an hour, was a good workout! However, I started Medical School, and gained weight. During my last year of medical school, I did lose weight. Internship and residency were not kind to me. I slowly started to creep upward again, then private practice. I was busier than ever, but not living a healthy life. Long hours, and sedentary lifestyle with pharmaceutical representatives bringing donuts, and other fat foods all right to me also led to my ‘demise.’ I married the love of my life, and I was already at 205 pounds. Then I started fellowship training. No time for fitness. Then, children came along. Two wonderful boys are the joy of my life. They were born about 19 months apart. I gained more weight than my wife! She has always been somewhat health minded. She worked on getting back to shape, but she was able to go to a gym and work out as she was a stay at home mom. I tried to go to the gym, but was not able to structure my schedule for such a ‘commitment’ and dropped the idea. I then started talking to one of my colleagues who was losing weight. He told me he was using P90, as he didn’t have the time to go to a gym. I then saw the infomercial and was like every other person, eagerly awaiting its arrival. This was in 2005. I had been snow skiing the year before and tore my medial colateral ligament on my left knee. I was 256 pounds, the most I have ever weighed. I had to do something! I started trying the diet by just the eyeballing method, and the exercises, well, at first; I couldn’t do all the moves. I was breathing so hard! With time, I made it through levels 1-2, and advanced to 3-4, all with good results. I came down to 224 pounds at the end of 90 days, but I was not happy with the results. So I didn’t take my pictures at ninety days. Also, I didn’t plan on a long term health and work out regimen so I started slipping backwards. The next two years, I added back a majority of the pounds; however, I was still using the stairs instead of the elevators (for the most part). Here comes 2008, and I am at 252 pounds, a scoutmaster for our boys’ troop, and I am having trouble staying awake late at night to watch them, and not setting a good example at all. Plus, I am one of the lead adults for our high adventure, and am to go to Philmont in 2009, which has a weight restriction based on height. I turned back to my friend, Tony Horton, with P90. This time, I have a plan for long term health and happiness. Plus, if you work the diet, it will work for you! After I finish my ninety days, I am going on with P90X. I have also purchased TurboJam, PHH, TMT, and P90 level 5-6. I have a hard time keeping up with the moves on TJ.
