My weight would typically fluctuate between 160 and 180 pounds. I was a typical yo-yo dieter. I had tried all the fad diets but nothing worked for me.

Not until now...I was watching the P90X commercial as I had so often done in the past. But this time, something clicked. I told my husband about it and we decided to do the program together.
We started our first round on 02/09/2009. I noticed a change within the first week! I couldn't believe the results! I knew within a week that I was not going to quit after 90 days. This was going to be a new lifestyle for me!

I have been battling my weight almost my entire life. I was always unhappy with the way I looked and I had very low self confidence. Many times I joined fitness centers and gyms to find myself finding excuses of why I couldn’t go. I also tried every fad diet out there. My yo-yo dieting was out of control, lose 5, gain 7, lose 10, gain 14, over and over again.
My husband John and I did the Atkins diet for 2 months before and right up until the day of our wedding. I weighed about 145 on my wedding day. We went on a cruise the next day for our honeymoon. During our 7 day cruise, I gained 15 pounds! When we disembarked off the ship, I couldn’t fit into any of the clothes I had bought for the trip.
Well, 9 months later when I delivered my son, I weighed over 200 pounds. I lost some of the weight but seemed to hover around 170. My daughter was born 2 years later and again I found myself back around 200 pounds.
This past Christmas, I weighed myself and found I was at 180…and I was not pregnant this time. I had to do something. I found my Turbo Jam DVD’s and started doing those everyday and following Weight Watchers. I did this for 6 weeks. I ended up losing 14 pounds. I was feeling much better and had tons of energy! I started watching the P90X Infomercial more and more. I also did some research online to see if this program really worked. I talked to John about it and he agreed to try it with me.
We started P90X on 02/09/09. Before I started, I had never worked out with weights my entire life. I could only do 3 push-ups on my knees and zero regular ones. Do a pull up? No way. Well, everything changed after that first day. I was amazed at the determination and drive that I found this time. I was even more amazed at how quickly I built strength and endurance. I noticed a difference in the first week. I was amazed and hooked! I followed the Nutrition plan and did my workout every day. I have lost fat and gained muscle. I fit into clothes that I wore on my honeymoon and I am still 15 pounds heavier than I was when I wore them!
That is the beauty of gaining muscle. It took me a while to understand that you have to eat to lose weight, you have to eat the right things and frequently. I actually look forward to working out everyday. I look forward to preparing healthy meals to eat. I do not struggle with what to wear, I enjoy my life now. I feel great and it shows. I knew within the first week that this was going to be a lifestyle change for me. I was not planning to stop after the 90 days was over. I am committed to being healthy for the rest of my life.
We will be done with our first round of P90X on May 9th. We are starting a second round on May 18th. Please join me in getting fit and healthy!
